These are the three most impactful studies I have read in my understanding of lipedema. I wish I had read them before my 2nd surgery; I would have never allowed incomplete liposuction if I had. Still, the senolytic angle is looking very important, which is great information to have.

I'm excited for the lipedema summit next month.

The senescent cells in lipedema essentially creating a domino effect, combined with the rapid growth of lipedema cells compared to normal fat cells on the same growth medium, and the calcium crystals (which are not the same composition as kidney stones, so sadly avoiding oxalates isn't the answer) explain the disease progression, especially how sudden it can be, the hardness & pain, and how it multiplies.

I truly feel they need to rename this condition, as it is far too complex to be summed up as fluid in fat & easily confused with lymphedema.

What are your favorite papers on our affliction?
