Help finding new pack!

So we tried our current pack for this past year, but it wasn’t a good fit for us. I’d love to find a different pack to join this upcoming year, but the few I’ve reached out to via the find a Cub Scout Pack near me never responded.

Is that normal for Packs to be unresponsive to inquiries? Is there something particular I should be asking?

Additional Reading Materials Not Available in Library. What to do?

I’m trialing Sassafras for science unit this summer, but none of the additional reading I’ve searched for are held at my local library! I’m not open to buying around 100 additional books to thoroughly complete the 18 week program. What do you all do in this situation?

Fairy Tales & Fractured Fairy Tales - Ideas?

This summer, I’m kicking off home camp with a unit on Fairy Tales vs their Fractured Fairy Tales, with my kids (7 & 10) writing their own after. Ideally I’m looking for picture book options rather than collections/anthologies, so we can look at each individually and analyze for patterns/“rules”.

I’m having trouble finding the fractured versions because key components of the titles are changed. Any recommendations are appreciated!

Birthday Party Awkwardness

so, my elementary school aged kid was invited by a classmate to their upcoming birthday party and received lots of details, but no actual invite was sent. Mom has my contact info, so could easily invite directly.

I reached out to ask about it but no word.

I’d love my kid to be invited; the other kid is my kid’s only friend who isn’t moving away, but it’s extremely odd to hear no word, let alone receive an invite so soon before a party that likely was planned months ago in a desirable party place.

I’m not really sure what to do. I mean, it’s pretty hard to fix things if my kid was purposely left out despite birthday kid clearly wanting my kid to attend. Both the other kid and mine will know what’s up, and the silence from the other mom confirms it, I think.

My kid isn’t high needs, but has some speech clarity challenges that make friends harder to form, especially as kid gets older and base things on first impressions.

What would you do? the kids are too young to get together without parents and the other kid has medical issues that require someone trained to assist if needed (otherwise other kid is pretty low needs as well), so I can’t just attempt to facilitate on my side. My kid would love to have playdates and such too, so I don’t know how to explain when I don’t even understand the problem.

Modern Classrooms Project?

I recently discovered that my kids’ school district is participating in the Modern Classrooms Project model.

I’ve been doing some research, but can’t quite understand what it looks like in practice. Can anyone provide insight?
