Christ is a wonderful counselor. I try to emulate that in my work. My work is mostly okay with using my faith in my practice but it depends on the person getting counseled. Most of my counselees are open to spiritual conversations but some are not and sometimes I get persecuted when I make a mistake and misread my client (not too common but it happens). Not sure if the Lord is calling me to persevere here (the director is a supportive Christian) because the impact I do make with receptive clients is miraculous to see (happens daily!) but some of my colleagues are not and work against me. Perhaps be a biblical counselor in more of a church environment (could be better..or worse too?).
