How to eat less?????
I’m a 22F and I went from 120lbs to 160lbs in the last 2 years. College was rough for me, and I was definitely stress snacking BAD and using food as a coping mechanism. I also had stopped exercising after being extremely active throughout my teenage years.
I’ve gotten in therapy and finally feel at peace with my mental health and feel like myself again. I want to work on being more active and having a healthier body, and that includes getting down to a healthier weight.
I’m 5’1, so all of the weight loss advice I’ve seen is to do 1500 calories a day??? I’ve tried to track calories and get close to this, but I’m just constantly thinking about food and I’ve noticed myself being constantly irritated and snippy when I follow this, so I really don’t see this as sustainable.
I’ve been exercising daily, I work a fairly active job, and get at least 10k steps a day. The food is really my problem. I love snacking. I love sweets. I love chips. I love soda. I crave them all all day. I don’t know how to give up the foods I love and portion control is hard for me.
Does anyone have any advice of how they got this under control? Is there good substitutes of snacks that I can eat a larger volume of?
Please don’t suggest a weight loss medication, I am not interested.
Thank you!
