I’m worried the owners of this cat aren’t feeding her enough

Hi! I’m watching an adorable little cat right now. She’s a Siamese tortie mix. However, she only gets one small can a day. 1/2 in morning and 1/2 at night. She should be getting at least 2 cans, right? I just feel cruel giving her so little food throughout the day. No dry food to graze on either.

But she seems healthy. And she’s not my cat, so maybe it’s all okay. I just worry.

Update: I sent a gentle message to the owner asking if I was supposed to give the cat 2 cans a day instead of 1 because that’s what it says on the back of the can. and she read my message and confirmed, once again, that it’s only 1 can a day. One 3 oz can a day. I’m at a loss. I don’t want to keep pressuring them because this is a brand new client.

Client separated her bonded pair of cats. I feel sad.

I was helping a client that I pet-sit for rehome her bonded pair of cats. I know I shouldn’t have gotten involved, but she had no idea what she was doing, and I’ve had a lot of experience with rehoming cats. I sent her a list of rescues and she said she would be contacting them. She was determined not to separate them.

She just texted me, a few weeks later, stating that she has separated them and one of them is left. I feel devastated. Those kitties were so bonded. It feels cruel for her to do that, but I’m also just upset at the fact that zero rescues and shelters were willing to take them in together. And I’m upset that whoever adopted one of the cats refused to adopt both. How do I move on from this? I know it seems silly, but I have a huge heart for animals, and I was close with those kitties.
