Lexus RX350

Hey everyone,

I’m honestly really torn and could use some advice from people who have actually owned both or made the switch.

I had a 2021 Lexus IS 350 F Sport that I absolutely loved. Unfortunately, my car was recently totaled, and now I’m trying to decide whether I should just get another IS 350 or move into an RX 350 instead.

Part of me wants to stay with the IS because I already know and love the way it drives. The handling, the sporty feel, sitting low to the ground, the interior feel, the way it hugs the road it just felt connected and fun. I genuinely enjoyed driving it every day.

But another part of me keeps thinking maybe it’s time for something different and more practical, especially an SUV. I keep looking at the RX 350 and wondering if I’d end up loving the comfort, smoother ride, extra room, easier entry/exit, visibility, cargo space, etc. I’m just worried I might miss the sporty feeling of the IS and regret making the change.

For those of you who went from an IS to an RX:

Which model and year would your recommend?

  • Did you regret it?
  • Did the RX eventually grow on you?
  • Does the RX still feel somewhat fun to drive or is it a completely different experience?
  • How different does the steering and road feel feel?
  • Is the RX noticeably quieter/more comfortable on longer drives?
  • Did you feel “older” driving the RX or is that stereotype overblown?
  • If you could do it all over again, would you stay with the sedan or go SUV?

I’m also trying to think long term. I’m not getting any younger, roads aren’t getting smoother, and part of me feels like an SUV may just make more sense now. But emotionally I still love the IS line.

I’d really appreciate honest opinions, especially from anyone who actually owned both. I’m genuinely confused on what direction to go right now.

Thanks everyone.
