Befriending the police like a cartel boss?

Para saakin kasi, this is so fishy and suspicious.
The only reason someone would do this, is to ask a for a favor in return.
Like come on, we weren't born yesterday — this is clearly strategic with motives.
In many scenarios when someone is trying please the cops, it means that person is most likely involved in something illegal.
It's giving mind conditioning to the police "Hey I'm a good guy. If there are any reports about us, it's a lie".
