Tips for staying loose and explosive on the board?

TL;DR: my body feels too stiff and sore most days to get the pop and power I’d like to out of my skating. What are your best tips/habits to get that pop and power back into your skating?

I’m about to turn 25, have been skating since 12 and feel like I’ve lost al my power when skating. Granted I havnt been skating as much the last couple years, but there was a time around age 18-20 that I just explosive and powerful on a board and I seem to have totally lost that. My flat ground tricks feel so weak now.

I know feeling stiff and less explosive is a part of aging, but damn 25 is too soon. So with that said, please share your best tips and/or habits you’ve found that keep your body feeling good when you’re on your board. Thanks yall!

No change in bike performance after air shock rebuild, normal?!

I recently brought my mtb to a shop to have a rebuild/200 hour service on my air shock (fox float X). I had bought this bike used and as far as I know it had never undergone a 200 hour service before, and it seemed like it was definitely time due to lots of squelching noises coming from it when in use.

However, I’ve now taken two rides and honestly other than it now being quiet it just feels the same more or less. Is this normal? I guess I was expecting/hoping for it to feel different and hopefully better. Have others experienced performance gains after getting their 200 hour service? Or is it more like an oil change on your vehicle? Preventative maintenance with little/no perceived performance?

Some context: I’m a beginner-intermediate rider mainly riding local trails, so I’m not putting my suspension through it too much. Maybe I’m just not good enough yet or not working the bike hard enough to notice a difference?

TL;DR: not experiencing majorly different suspension feel after getting 200 hour service on air shock. Normal, or should it feel better? I’m a novice rider mainly on local trails.
