New battery

Not sure if this is the right place for this or not but I'll put it up anyway.

I brought my car to the local mechanic today because my battery kept being drained and constantly needed a jump start when ever I wanted to drive

Little back story bought a 2010 Chevy Aveo in October 2025 for €1200, drives really nicely, but in February of this year the battery was dead one of the mornings going to work, so I bought a new battery for around €70 at local parts place and all was well until about 2 weeks ago. I asked neighbours and family members to help jump my car when needed but planned to go mechanic anyways.

Back to today; brought the car to the mechanic this morning and we thought it was gonna be a drain or faulty alternator or whatever cant exactly remember. Left it with him for a few hours and I got a call back from him saying that the car was fine didnt find any issues with it but when he checked the battery he said it failed the test he had done on it and it was a cheap dud of a battery, he didn't recognise the brand and I should go back to where I bought the battery because it should at least have a 12 month warranty on it.

So now I'm thinking I'm definitely gonna bring the battery back to where I bought it and try and get a replacement. I want to get a better brand of battery but I don't know much is an alright amount to pay and how much is too much to pay.

I've seen prices on a certain franchise of auto parts and batteries can be €180 plus.

Any advise is welcome

Tldr: I need a new car battery and I don't know how much I should be paying for one
