NPCs vs friends

Random casual comment - but sometimes on these Horizon subreddits I see discussions about the NPC’s that Aloy encounters, specifically those we meet during the main quest lines.

I’m currently on my 5th or 6th playthrough of HFW after ZD and felt the need to put it out there that (as sad as it might sound) I don’t just see the NPC’s we meet as NPCs but actual friends and allies with actual depth. The writers have created these characters with so much nuance and personality that there seems to a deeper (even emotional) bond that makes them more than just an “NPC”. And, after playing them both multiple times, I almost feel that these pivotal characters are a source of comfort. Not many games can produce that sentiment.

Anyone else felt the same?

(Side note - yes, I love these games and I’m not ashamed to admit all this).

I’ve just finished Lisa Rinna’s latest book. And I can only describe it as exhausting and chaotic. It was akin to reading an entire paragraph without any punctuation or structure. Or someone randomly blurting out their entire story without taking a breath.

All with a hint of ego, narcissism and contradictions:

She considers herself to be the most successful housewife.

She quotes herself often, usually adding that her quips are now “famous” (or infamous)“memorable” and have gone viral.

Says she doesn’t have issues surrounding food but will then list all the diets she’s been on and say she’s too scared to eat a hamburger.
