I’ve formed one small LLC before, but this is my first time looking into registering in California. I’m using the California Entity Search to see if the brand name I want for a digital marketing agency is available and whether similar names already exist.

If you’ve used it before, does it only show active/inactive status, or can you also view filing dates and agent details? Trying to avoid choosing a name that gets rejected later.

I’ve been looking into comforters recently and realized that a lot of brands like Puredown, Brooklinen, and some higher-end lines. All highlight numbers like 600, 700, or 800 fill power.

From what I’ve read, 600 tends to be a bit heavier but more budget-friendly, 700–750 is often described as a balanced option with good loft without being too warm, and 800+ is lighter and more “cloud-like,” but also noticeably more expensive.

So, besides the specs, how do they feel in daily use? For those who’ve tried different fill powers, what did you end up preferring in real life?

Hey folks figured it’d be good to have a place where we can ask stupid questions and smart ones about insurance, licenses, audits, COIs, jobsite compliance, whatever is confusing you.

Stuff like:

  • “Why did my audit bill spike?”
  • “Do I really need this endorsement?”
  • “How do I keep my compliance docs straight?”
  • “What coverage do I actually need to bid a job?”

Drop your questions here. Whether you’re brand new or have been at it for years, share what’s confusing you.

People from Affordable Contractors Insurance (ACI) and other folks who know their stuff will hang out and help explain things in plain talk. Fire away!
