White Peak White Goose Down Comforter -- Has anyone purchased?

I've figured out the hard way that finding a high quality down comforter is almost as hard as finding a high quality mattress. This one looks new to Costco from the age and number of reviews.

It's the "White Peak White Goose Down Comforter," Item 2015254, by Blue Ridge Home Fashions. As far as I know, Blue Ridge is a reputable bedding company and they are part of the American Down and Feather Council.

What catches my eye in particular is this comforter claims to have 95% down clusters (that is exceptional), 700 FP, and 49 oz filling in the king size, for only $409!

I'm wondering if anyone has this comforter and what you think?

Looking for experiences with Wool comforter/duvet covers

Hello! My husband and I have been doing a bunch of research on what wool comforter we want and we were leaning towards the wool room light/king but we also want a duvet cover and that size is 100X90 which isn’t a standard US size so we would have to get a duvet cover from the wool room if we want it to perfectly fit and they don’t have a large range of colors. We were also looking at the all seasons from the company store but my husband is a little concerned that is going to be too warm for us but we would have more duvet cover options. Any thoughts or personal experiences with these? Thanks in advance!

How often do you change sheets?

One person in a bed, sleeping only, no other activities. Weekly or every 2 weeks?

Sleeping with a top sheet is a scam and I’m tired of pretending it’s not.

It serves no purpose. It tangles up around your legs by 3 AM. It adds an extra 45 seconds to making the bed. It provides zero temperature control.

If you wash your duvet cover regularly, the top sheet is entirely redundant. It is literally just a piece of fabric designed to frustrate you.

Change my mind. Or, tell me your hill-to-die-on household rule.

KD Frames Lexington Platform Bed - Does not finishing the wood have any downsides?

Their website says this -

>If I want to stain or finish the wood, how should I do that? Most customers leave the wood unfinished, but you can absolutely apply a finish if you prefer. Here’s a great video on how to finish Tulip Poplar.

I want to understand from long-term users if leaving the wood unfinished has any consequences. Will cleaning with any kind of liquid be an issue?

Cotton shell comforter?

Do cotton shell comforters even exist? I’ve been searching every where for them and can’t find it anywhere.
I’m okay with alternative down filling. I just want a cotton shell.
Do cotton shells only exist as duvet covers? I personally do not want to invest in a duvet insert because I want to frequently wash my bedding.
Does anybody know where I can find a a dark brown cotton shell comforter?
Please enlighten me I’ve been looking for months and I’m tired of sleeping hot 😭

Side sleeper trying to become Back sleeper: Down alternative options?

I’m a longtime side sleeper (started doing it to block out noise in loud apartment buildings), but I’m trying to become a back sleeper because I know it’s better for you long-term.

What pillows would you recommend to someone alternating between side and back sleeping? I’m looking for a down alternative pillow (no latex/foam!), and I don’t mind spending a little extra (also, I’m in the U.S. for availability purposes).

One issue I have: firmer pillows seem to put too much pressure on my eye socket when sleeping on my side, and I know back pillows tend to be firmer. Any solutions/suggestions appreciated!

Which silk pillowcase under $50 is actually worth it?

I’ve been wanting to try a real silk pillowcase, but I’d prefer to keep my budget around $50. I’m looking at SilkSilky, Blissy, and Lilysilk right now, the price difference is pretty big.

SilkSilky seems to have more options within my budget, while Blissy has a lot more colors but costs over $100. Lilysilk looks like it falls somewhere in between.

Has anyone here actually tried more than one of these? I’m mostly wondering whether there’s a noticeable difference in feel and durability that makes the more expensive ones worth it.

I need a new quilt. Help!

Hi!

I’m looking for quilt recommendations. I want one that isn’t this gauzy muslin shit that is going to fall apart in less than a year with washes that is trending right now. I like color, prints or patterns would be great. Mostly I just want something durable that will last a few years with regular washing and isn’t super fluffy. Pottery barn has let me down with my current one as it’s falling apart after about two years. Honestly willing to spend $$$ if it will actually last.

Thanks in advance.

Comforter - NO DUVET

Helpppp! Everything is a duvet now and I can’t stand dealing with duvets. I’m looking for a nice high quality comforter that isn’t down as I’m allergic to feathers. I would also LOVE a cute pattern, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I am a hot sleeper, but don’t necessarily want cooling. I feel like I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find anything!

Help choosing new bedding brand

I have had various sets of Yves Delorme percale sheets for the last 10 years and love the feeling and the quality! I need to replace them….BUT the prices are now higher than sky high, even in the outlet. (Granted,I had a hook up and got amazing deals back when I bought them.). AND the oatterns are now just horrible!!

So who can I replace them with? Not a fan of Brooklinen, boll and branch, parachute, or most of the highly promoted online brands. No little flower patterns!

Willing to splurge for something I really love - funky strong pattern and color. Willing to try linen again. How is Piglet (linen, linen blend, cotton)? Matteo (had them many years ago, loved the feel but had an issue with discoloration and long delays.)? Dusen and Dusen? Tekla?

Any suggestions or comments on how these and other brands compare in quality to my beloved Yves D?

many thanks

What are these marks on my pillowcases?

Does this happen to anybody else? It’s not mascara, I’m thinking it’s something in the washing machine or dryer. But I only noticed it on pillowcases and sheets. Any ideas out there?

Cooler alternative to down comforter?

I have a down comforter I use during the winter. While its great, its far too hot in the summer months.

But if I only use a top sheet (percale weave cotton), I cannot fall asleep! I need some physical weight on me or I toss and turn forever.

Years back I got a weighted blanket but it was too much and made it hard to turn when I needed to.

Whats a good alternative to the down comforter? Ideally machine washable. (The comforter kind of gets ruined every time I wash it, permanantally losing fluffiness)

Bed sheet Recommendations - Overwhelmed

Hey guys! I’m currently very overwhelmed looking for bedding recommendations, mainly bed sheets. My husband and I recently bought a king sized Tempurpedic mattress and cannot find a good set of bed sheets. And I’d prefer to stop spending $100 for poor quality 🤪.

* King sized bed
* Tempurpedic
* I want soft sheets. Not the “crisp” or scratchy ones.
* Struggling to find ones that will STAY on the mattress and doesn’t fall off every night… every night we have to re-pull our sheets down over the mattress.
* Prefer less than $200 for a regular sheet set. But truly closer to $100 is preferable.
* No preference between bamboo or cotton, etc. I’m simply not educated enough in which is “better” or “softer”. I don’t want flannel or something super hot is all. Preferred to be good for all seasons.

Any recommendations?

couples who run hot and cold, do you share one comforter or split the layers?

My partner and I are not on the same planet when it comes to bedding temperature.

I want something lighter most of the night, and he wants an extra layer by morning. One heavy comforter turns into a fight. Separate blankets work better, but then the bed always looks messy and kind of disconnected. I am wondering if the answer is just a lighter comforter with an extra blanket that can be pulled up or folded down depending on the night. That sounds less dramatic than buying a whole new seasonal setup, but I do not know if it actually works in real life.

For couples with different sleep temperatures, do you share one comforter, use separate blankets, or layer things so each person can adjust?
