Gift for someone who loves tiny things but has no shelf space left

I’m trying to find a good gift for someone who likes miniatures, but I don’t want to just add more random clutter to their life. They already have tiny plants, tiny furniture, tiny animals, tiny everything. A DIY miniature kit seems better because it gives them the fun of making something, not just receiving another object. But I also know some people love finished pieces and some people love the build process more.

Would you give a kit, a display case, better tweezers, lighting supplies, or just a gift card so they can pick their own tiny chaos?

Wonder of the Seas... hotel hair dryers vs packing your own?

Ok so packing for my next cruise and i'm staring at my suitcase trying to save space. Do you actually bring your own hair dryer when traveling or just use the hotel one on board? I know the ship has them but cruise ship dryers are usually so weak it takes like forty minutes just to get my roots dry. But then packing a whole extra thing feels stupid. Is the one in the stateroom on Wonder actually decent or should I just suck it up and use the luggage space?

looking at two vastly different quotes for an attic heat pump retrofit and losing my mind a bit

I’m reviewing a quote for replacing an older system in my 1950s ranch house. The current setup is a dead 3-ton gas furnace and AC split system, and the biggest issues have always been the loud compressor right outside the main bedroom window and some really uneven heating between the back bedrooms. The constraints are about 1,800 square footage, located in northeast Ohio so winters get pretty brutal, existing old ductwork that might be slightly undersized, a very tight utility closet inside, and a strict budget range where i can't just throw blank checks around. One quote includes a Midea inverter system, while another contractor is recommending a more familiar legacy brand with a traditional single-stage setup. I’m trying to compare the practical details instead of choosing by logo alone, but the total installed cost gap is making me second guess everything. Before I choose, what would you guys verify here?

Should I worry more about the installer experience with variable systems, parts availability if something goes sideways in January, or the actual noise level difference?

How are you tracking body changes on GLP-1 without making yourself anxious?

I am down weight on GLP-1 and happy with the progress, but the tracking side is starting to mess with my head. My doctor mentioned paying attention to strength and lean mass, so I have been thinking more about how to track changes beyond just the number on the scale. The issue is that daily numbers can be so noisy. Water retention, appetite changes, constipation, workouts, and menstrual cycle shifts can all make the trend look worse than it really is. I worry that adding more body composition estimates would just give me another thing to obsess over.

For people further along, what tracking setup has felt mentally sustainable? Weekly weigh-ins, measurements, progress photos, strength numbers, smart scale trends, or something else?

England having this much talent and still making 0-0 feel inevitable is honestly impressive

"That was not a disaster. It was worse in a boring way. England had the ball, Ghana sat in, and after about 20 minutes you could already see where the game was going. Safe pass, safe pass, slow it down, try the wide area, reset again. Kane barely got any clean looks until late, and even the late chances felt more like panic than pressure.

Ghana will be fine with this. Stay narrow, kill the rhythm, leave with a point. Job done. England are still in a decent spot, but this was the old question again: how does a squad with this much quality keep making games feel heavier than they should?"

First time flying a drone. Tried my friend's Avata 360

My friend brought his Avata360 and let me have a go. Put on the goggles and it took me a sec to process what was happening. Push the stick and the thing just goes. First person view is weird, like my body's on the ground but my eyes are somewhere else. My friend was standing next to me telling me to slow down and be careful the whole time, more nervous than I was...

When my friend showed me this clip after I landed, I couldn't believe I actually flew it that far out. Felt like I barely moved the sticks. Thinking about getting my own drone now, don't know what model yet but I want one.

first winter in salt country and the driver side carpet has salt crust near the dead pedal.

spent three hours scrubbing a customer's mid size crossover today and the winter road salt crust near the dead pedal was practically fused into the fabric fibres like a rock ngl.

it got me wondering what are the best floor mats right now for dealing with heavy winter slush because the factory ones are clearly a joke for anyone living in the rust belt.

the salt brine literally bleeds right through the edges and stains the bottom lining white which is an absolute pain to extract once it dries into that chalky residue.

tbh i usually tell people to cross shop husky weathertech or those dual layer TPE setups with a removable carpet mat on top so you can just unclip the messy part and blast it with an APC instead of drill brushing the actual car interior for an hour.

am i missing a secret chemical shortcut here or are high walled rubber tubs the only way to keep salt from destroying the flooring?
