Continued Progress

Continued Progress

2 years ago I would’ve never been able to handle this trip I’m currently on in the Philippines 🇵🇭; the heat, the long travel days, carrying my daughter around, and still having energy left to enjoy the moments.

100 lbs down changed more than how I look, it changed what my body is capable of. The simple things we take for granted when we’re healthy… walking without getting exhausted, playing with your kids, moving comfortably, balancing on and jumping off the side of boats, waking up without pain… those things are priceless.

This journey stopped being about a number on the scale a long time ago. It became about being present for my family and actually living life instead of watching it from the sidelines.

One year of progress

I’ve lurked here for awhile but wanted to share my progress pics. I started logging on the Lose It app starting 5/5/25. I had been on ozempic for almost a year before then but I hadn’t lost any weight until I started a calorie deficit. Since then, I have lost about 45lbs. I started at 191lbs, lowest weight was 145.2 a few weeks ago. Sitting at 147 today. The weight is coming off much slower since the beginning of the year. My goal is to get to 130. I eat on average 1300-1500 calories a day. I walk 4-5times a week with at least half the walks being 4+ miles. I weight train 3-4 times a week. I can’t believe I’m a size medium or small now. Just celebrated my 40th birthday and am in the best shape of my life!

Bye Bye Gallbladder

I wanted to tell you my story for people out there on Sema just as a warning - not to stop using it - but just be aware of this potential side effect. While there is still more research to be done on this drug, I do attribute my having to remove this organ because of my rapid weight loss.

I started Semaglutide 15 months ago. I switched to Tirzepetide after about 5 months and the weight came off faster. My weight was 225. I’m currently 54 years old and do not have diabetes. I use a telehealth prescription. I’ve had incredible weight loss success, losing 90 pounds over the last 15 months.

About 5 weeks ago, I had an attack. At first it just feels like gas, but the pain doesn’t go away. It’s just gnawing and lasted the night. And it was more concentrated under the right rib cage, permeated to my back, and was accompanied by some light nausea. After some research, discovered it might be gallstones. I powered through it, knowing I would need to go see a doctor soon. This past weekend I was out of town, had a meal and this time it was MUCH worse. Doubled over in pain, vomiting. Went to the ER, and after some testing confirmed it was my gallbladder. I have to get it removed within the next week or two and until then, I’m on an all-liquid diet.

I do attribute the gallbladder / gallstones to my rapid weight loss for a few reasons: 1) I never experienced any gallbladder issue prior to my Sema/Tirz use. 2) I’ve always been a generally healthy eater. While I’m not a vegetarian, I prefer vegetables. I avoid processed foods (fast food), generally. I’ve heard that gallstones form after a period of time - like years - and an attack occurs when your system finally fights back. But I find it odd that this would be the case when I’m eating less and haven’t changed the kinds of food I eat, more or less. If anything, I’ve been eating healthier. (I’ve read that rapid weight loss takes the cholesterol in the fat and gets in your system and can form a sludge in your gallbladder.)

I don’t regret taking the drug, but in retrospect, I wish I had been more aware of this potential issue being about the rapid weight loss vs the actual drug. I may have slowed down the pace and increased the dosage over a longer period of time. (I guess this may be one of the downsides of doing telehealth, but the cost is so significantly less that I wouldn’t have been able to afford the name brand, and my insurance doesn’t cover it, especially because I am not diabetic.

What “line” does .25mg mean on this syringe??

Got from peak wellness, this is my first ever dose—the bottle is 1mg total, I’m supposed to take .25mg per week for the first 4 weeks…. What line on this syringe am I supposed to fill this up to???!

(Not holding any commenters responsible for their advice—also can’t believe Peak Wellness wasn’t clearer about which line to fill up to??!)

TIA!!

Fried fish: oh the pain!

My husband brought home a rare treat: fried fish. I've been on semaglutide for a month.

I haven't been this sick since having food poisoning in college.

Thankfully I have zofran and phazym on hand. First dose didn't exactly get the opportunity to work, but taking another round. Sipping an electrolyte drink.

No more fried foods, friends. Take it from me.

Weird behaviour from others after you lose weight

This is a mix of ranting, venting and some advice.

I’ve been slowly losing weight over months. Lost 20kg so far. There came a point when it apparently became really obvious that I was thinner - around the 15kg mark. People at work started asking me if I had lost weight, what diet I was on etc.

But what’s really weird is how coworkers I would only say hello to in passing were suddenly coming up to me all “omg heyyy girrrrlll how did you lose that much weight?” It’s so weird.

Others can’t talk to me about anything else. Every single time they come up to me, it’s to talk about my weight and how good I look. I’m so glad I have lost weight but it gets really old really fast. As if I’m reduced to a body that is finally reaching people’s ideals and we must talk about it.

And then there are the men… there’s this warehouse guy who was always rude and impatient. We would always make jokes about how he would give us the most nasty answers when we asked him something. Now he’s being *so* nice to me! Talks to me like a person, even smiles!? I even commented with an (older, overweight) coworker that he suddenly was nicer and she said that no, he is still an asshole to her.

It’s all so… fucking weird. I have always been aware of the fact that good looking people have an easier time in life. But it’s bizarre to see it happening to me. In real time. Fortunately it doesn’t bother me that much, and I still have a lot of coworkers with whom I get along and always have.

So maybe be aware that once you lose all that weight, some people will be really weird about it. It won’t always be negative, but it won’t be exactly positive either 😬

7 months in!

Hey all!

I'm sure some of you remember this dress from a previous progress post 4 months ago, just wanted to show my progress after 7 whole months on Wegovy!

First pic was end of October 2025, next pic is yesterday!

Currently at 1.7mg, started at 106kg, now at 85kg, and the most amazing part is that I did not make any changes to my way of living. I walk just as much, eat the same things, just not in the same quantities !

The only downside is that I'm always exhausted lately, tried vitamins and had some blood work but all is perfect so maybe I'm not eating enough ? I don’t really know but one thing I'm sure of is that I'm thrilled with the results so far!!

After 10 years back in Onederland!

I started at 275, and couldn't imagine losing that much weight before wegovy. It's been such a great journey- much faster at the beginning- I lost the first 60lbs in about year and it's been another 6 months to lose the next 15lbs- but I've been living my life and working on my fitness too.

Aiming overall to lose another 25lbs to take me to the 100lb lost - but we will see how it goes, I'm not in any rush!

If you haven't already started- go for it. And if you are on your way- just keep going!

P.S. The cat wasn't standing on the scale!

One month update

A little background. 39F. Mom of 4. After 1st baby I lost all the weight doing CrossFit. 2nd baby took me 3 years to lose the weight doing Beach Body workouts and keto. Thought I was done having kids. Surprise baby #3. Gained 90lbs. Lost about 40 lbs when surprise #4. Gained another 90lbs. 3.5 years later and I'm sitting at 80lbs yet of baby weight. Last summer I decided to make a change and started running. Did the couch to 5k program. Then decided to sign up for a 10k. Trained for and ran that. Then my sister in law convinced me to sign up for a 1/2 marathon with her. Trained for and ran that. As accomplished and proud of myself as I am, I still can't look at and appreciate any of my race/post race pictures. In 6 months of running and training I bounced around the same +/- 5lbs and my clothes never got any looser. It was kinda depressing to put in so much work and not see the results I was hoping for. Then after my race I stopped running as long/as frequently and started to see the scale creep back up. Decided to look into GLP-1. Put myself first and used some of our tax return to purchase semaglutide.

Started 1 month ago.

SW: 210 lbs

5'7"

39f.

CW: 200.4lbs

Down 19.5 inches too! Including 5 in the bust, 4 in the waist, and 3 in the hips.

Started at a very low dose 0.1 and am now up to 0.4. Had some headaches and mild nausea in the beginning but nothing too bad. Working out 4-5 days a week, plus I walk an average of 4-6 miles at work 4x/week. Eating around 1600 calories and drink about 7 owalas/day (always been a big water drinker).

I'm so happy I made the decision to start on a sema. It finally gave my body that jumpstart it needed and to put in the work AND see the scale go down has been such a great feeling.

Looking forward to month 2!

Q: anyone have success in loosing weight without working out a ton?

On mo 5 and lost about 30lbs- woo!
Struggling to keep up with the gym as a working mom of 2- should I be stressed?

Honestly since I’m not eating that much at this point the gym is hard because I’m so tired!

Trying to get as much protein as possible with every meal!

Me after getting off semaglutide

I remember trying to look up stories of people who came off semaglutide. There are plenty of stories of people regaining most of the weight back. I wanted to share my story just to give a different result after I stopped (the second time).

I'm 5'3", SW 180lb ish, LW 145, CW 150.

I was on semaglutide from August 2023 to December 2024. The side effect that effected me most was the nausea and diarrhea. When I would hit a certain dose level (I cant remember the number), I would get this horrible nausea and diahrea combo. I stopped for a little bit but rapidly gained so much weight back. I tried again with tirzepatide but it also gave me similar side effects at a lower dose. I went back to semaglutide because if I were going to experience these side effects again I might as well do it on the cheaper one.

My doc raised the dose slower with me this time around, but when I hit the same high dose level as before, the horrible nausea and diarrhea combo returned. I stopped completely in early December of 2024. I didnt reached my goal weight.

Let me tell you when I say, it was a lot of hard work! I was counting my calories, I was working out every morning and trying my best to keep my steps above 5k. I did have binge eating days though, but I was so determined to not fall back on old habits. I learned to say no to food. I'm latina and saying no to food offered to you is insanely rude, but if keeping my self in track meant looking rude to my relatives than so be it.

But I did gain weight. I slowly regained 12 lb, the scale reaching 157. I switched tactics with my fitness since my appetite increased. I started lifting heavier, increased my protein, added more fiber, and worried less about my steps. Doing this for several months I noticed the scale slowly dropping, very slowly. Like about .5 lb a month. I was able to lose weight on my own. I missed how quickly the weight loss was while on sema, but this slow weight loss is good too, even if its testing my patience. My old clothes are starting to fit again and I feel stronger! I still have food noise and I still binge occasionally, but I'm able to get back track more easily now. I miss not worrying about what I'm eating, but I'm just naturally one of those people who has to or else I'll be obese again. And just to be transparent, I repeat a lot of meals so I can hit my goals, not necessarily because I enjoy what I'm eating.

But this is where I'm at and what is currently working for me, so I'm going to keep at this until I reach my goals, whenever that may be.

About to start sema

Please relieve my anxiety. I am so nervous after reading some of this thread of the side effects. Of course before I discussed with my provider I knew there would be side effects, she assured me they’d be mild. It looks like she sent in .5 for my first dose. I have a baby and can’t be out of commission after my shots. I have a few questions

  1. what do I need on hand (besides zofran) to make this process easier — vitamins, other relief outlets, etc.
  2. I’m committed to making diet changes. BUT am I really gonna throw up for days if I have a slice of pizza or burger? (Based on what I’ve read)
  3. how do you split your doses into two?

Please give me all your tips and tricks. My BMI is 34 and I NEED this to change my life. I’m tired of hating myself.

Thanks in advance.

Progress

210 lbs ➡ 158lbs.
51.6 lbs from Feb 2026 to May 2026.

I’m finally switching to maintenance. I’m so proud of myself.

Not sure I can keep going with these side effects

I’ve been on Ozempic 7 weeks at .25 and not sure I can keep taking it, I’m supposed to increase to .5 next week. Prior to starting, I’ve been on 40mg Prilosec twice a day and Pepcid twice a day which controlled my GERD well along with dietary changes. Prior to Ozempic I also had slow motility constipation. My primary and GI Dr still thought I can handle the medication so I went for it.

IOver the last 5 years I’ve lost 90lbs and since starting lost 18lbs, SW was 312. I’m on a medication that increases appetite, and while Ozempic was very effective even at the starter dose, I’m going to have to go up to still feel that effect, even now it’s wearing off.

I’m increasingly more constipated even with using MiraLAX once daily, after almost a week of no BM yesterday I moved to taking it 4 times plus a laxative per my GI Dr advice. I sleep on a wedge pillow to try to help. They said nothing more can be done to help with the increased acid reflux. The last two days I’ve been vomiting stomach acid and am miserable. I’m not sure if I can keep on this medication, does anyone have any advice?
