Hey everyone. Just bought my first F150. 22 XL with 5.0. Just crossed 23,000 mileage yesterday and was curious what upgrades people would recommend for reliability, longevity, and quality of life. Thanks!
Picked up my first truck a few months back and have been absolutely loving it. 2023 f-150 xlt 2.7 sport package with 21,000 miles, got it for $44,600 OTD with warranty packages (lmk how i did). Just got full tints done 30% windshield 5% on front windows, left factory tint on rear window and added another layer of 15% over that. Any advice on a hard bedcover? Preferably something not $1000.
Can I fit BFgoodrich 285/65/r20 tires on my truck? It has a 2 inch in the front and 1 in the back.
I have a 2001 King ranch f150 (about 350k miles) that I just love. Unfortunately while at a stop sign today someone turning left onto the road I was on got hit and spun into the front of my truck. (All parties are perfectly fine, they were up walking around talking to the cops when I left)
Thankfully nothing damaged besides brush guard and headlights, I can easily fix headlights but I've never had a brush guard before and don't know if it can be welded back together? One of the bottom pipes snapped apart from the upright piece, just next to the join
Can/should this be welded back together? Where do I find a brush guard if it can't be repaired?
I’ve had my 2015 XLT for about a year, and the rearview mirror has been pretty wobbly since I bought it. It finally fell off recently.
Looking at the mounting bracket pictured, I think I found the problem. When I put the metal bracket back into the plastic mirror base, there’s still some give to it, which I’m guessing is what caused the mirror to wobble in the first place.
Has anyone dealt with this before? I’m thinking about using JB PlasticWeld to secure the metal bracket firmly inside the plastic housing and eliminate the movement. Any reason not to do this, or is there a better way to repair it?
I am going to do a few things on FORScan like disable the auto start stop, and the “Bambi” mod( fog lights on with high beams). What are some other things that I should do while I’m in there, or helpful things you have done over time?
2026 F-150 XLT 3.5 EcoBoost… came from a Ram 1500 hemi after arguably too much research.
Hey all,
I'm shopping for a used F-150 as a family vehicle, budget capped around $15K. My target spec:
I know at this budget I'll likely be looking at higher mileage — I'm fine with that as long as the truck's mechanically sound and has a reasonable maintenance history.
I just found a specific listing that's a bit over budget and want a reality check before I go further:
2020 F-150 XLT SuperCrew, 5.0 V8, 4WD, leveling kit w/ 35" tires — 170.000 miles — $16,877
Seller is a licensed dealer (verified profile, established reviews), seems reputable. But when I asked some follow-up questions, they told me: no service records available, don't know if an alignment was done after the leveling kit install, and the truck was bought at auction (so no history before that).
A few questions for the group:
Appreciate any input, trying to make sure I'm not missing something obvious (or being too picky) before I commit to anything.
Edit: I am in North Carolina
I took the hard plastic lockable/foldable storage box out of my truck bc I haul my dog around a lot. Even with the box collapsed he slid on the hard plastic and never gets comfortable.
However now that it’s gone, I don’t have a place to keep tools together. On my 2018, there was a piece that ran long ways from one side of the seat bracket to the other side that created a nice basket/space between the seat brackets for hand tools etc.
Anyone have a link or solve for this?
2025 tremor, every time I go to a car wash my gas door blows open during the blow dry part. Any way to tighten the spring so it is harder to open?
This is my second F-150, first one was a 1993 I6 5spd, also had a 99 F-250 v10.
Picked this ol girl up for $1300. 2011 screw 6.5 ft bed 5.0 4x4. Came with some older decked drawers, and the capper.
I’m looking at buying a 2024-2026 f150 either STX or XLT. Not sure what motor I want debating between the 3.5 or the 5.0. Would like to try and stay under 50k and closer to 40k if possible. Also under 40k miles. Plan is to get a 21ft boat in the future. Thanks in advance. What would everyone suggest.
I’ve had the 6112/5160s for about a month and their on-road comfort is low in my opinion. However, they do significantly better off-road than stock. I took some significant dips and woops at around 30-40 mph and the bilsteins ate it up like nothing
Just thought I'd post to get some advice on what I should do ? My current ride is a 2016 F150 3.5 XLT Sport with 253000 kms. (167000 miles). I had the transmission replaced at 151000 kms through the Ford ESP program. The truck runs great, no accidents and acceptable rust on the frame.
I'm faced with a couple of major fixes coming up in the near future. I've been running for over a year with the exhaust manifold leak happening. I was thinking of replacing both turbos at the same time when I replace the manifolds. I plan on going with BD Diesel replacement parts.
My next problem is that I believe I have cam phasers on the way out. It started with the start-up rattle happening about 6 months ago. It lasts around 5-10 seconds and isn't overly loud on startup. No check engine light is currently present. I was planning on replacing the timing chain and water pump while in there.
The truck has been great to me and for the most part reliable. It is fully paid off and I just put a set of brand new KO3 tires on. I'm wondering what everyone's take is.These repairs will run 10k+. I love the truck but don't really want to get into truck payments again.
Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone,
I’m shopping for a used F150 in Oregon. I have just pulled my third carfax to find yet another F150 from Canada . Each truck has been sitting on the lot for 100+ days. I see lots of registration changes while the truck has been in Canada.
I’m curious if there is any insight here. How are so many Canada F150s ending up here, and it seems people are avoiding them . Or maybe it’s a coincidence. The price sure is nice.
Thanks for your time
I just saw this article and it made me think, if Ford brought back the power stroke 3.0 I would ditch my Chevy in a heartbeat. Because I need that 30mpg when not towing. I want the comfort and quietness of the F150 that I don’t get in the Chevy.
I just installed these seat covers into my 2025 STX. I had the cloth seats and at first I really liked them until I went to the gym and the next day I saw there were already sweat stains in the seat. I live in Vegas, that isn't going to work. It would probably take a normal functioning human with a normal brain about 2-2 1/2 hours to completely install. It took me way longer because I am just terrible at installing stuff. So my thoughts:
The link below is for the seat covers I bought. I will post pictures of the parts I don't like.

I’m torn if I like the gloss black on the Antimatter Blue. Tomorrow they finish the ceramic coat they’ll do the fender flares and interior also. Going to see how it looks they were on sale by getting anti-Matt matched which was about $350 more. I’d like everyone’s thoughts on what they think.
