Visa documents email

Visa documents email

Has anyone gotten this UK spouse visa email and been confused about where to actually submit supporting documents?

I received the standard email saying my application is being prepared for consideration by an ECO and that supporting documents need to be submitted within 5 working days, but the email itself doesn’t actually say WHERE to upload them.

I uploaded everything through the VFS self-upload portal before biometrics. Or is there another place UKVI wants documents sent after this email?

I’m just worried I’m missing something important.

It also says in the email “With all correspondence please ensure you quote the above GWF reference number.”
Does this mean I need to add my reference number to all supporting documents because I did not do that when I uploaded them through the VFS self upload portal.

Just trying to make sure I don’t miss anything 😅

Spouse Visa

PREGNANT APPLYING FOR SPOUSE VISA

Husband is a UK citizen and I am a US citizen.

We are currently going through the UK spouse visa process from the US and I’m honestly starting to panic a little.

We got married in Gibraltar in February 2026 and had to wait for our marriage certificate to arrive in the mail before we could even start the visa process. Originally, we thought we were going to somehow save and come up with all the visa fees ourselves, but last month we found out about the fee waiver option.
We applied for the fee waiver and got approved on May 1st, which was a huge relief.
The same day, I submitted my spouse visa application. I booked the first biometrics appointment available, which was today (May 13th).
We were actually planning to borrow money from a friend so we could pay for priority processing. Unfortunately, because we received a fee waiver, there was no option to purchase priority service.
The biggest issue is that I’m currently 27 weeks pregnant and due August 11th, 2026.
If our application takes the full standard 12 weeks, I’ll be around 39 weeks pregnant by the time we get a decision, and I’m terrified my doctors or the airline won’t allow me to fly that late into pregnancy. My husband being there for the birth of our child is incredibly important to us, and ideally I need to give birth in the UK.
I’ve seen some people on here mention re-entering the UK as a visitor while their spouse visa was still pending, but everywhere else I read says it’s risky and that I could be denied entry at the border because I have a pending settlement visa application.
Obviously, if I were denied, I’d return to the US, but the uncertainty is really stressful.
We’ve already contacted our MP and they replied saying they would reach out on our behalf, so we’re hoping that helps somehow.

I’m also worried because I made a mistake on the application regarding my husband’s income. I listed his salary as about £27,000/year because that’s his contracted salary, but he regularly works overtime (available daily if he wants it), so his actual yearly income is closer to £33,000. His employer wrote a letter explaining this, and we submitted that along with payslips and his tax documents from last year.

I’m just really overwhelmed right now and wondering:
Has anyone been in a similar situation while pregnant?
Has anyone successfully entered the UK as a visitor while awaiting a spouse visa decision?
Is there anything else we can do to try to speed things up or help our case?

Any advice or experiences would really help right now.
