Spouse visa Tehran

Applying for spouse visa tonight for my husband in Iran.

Anyone applied from Tehran recently? I’m submitting tonight (hit 6 months of employment from today so being safe and submitting after 00:00) hoping to apply with priority but my solicitor doesn’t think it will be available from Tehran.

Anyone recently applied from Tehran? What was your experience? Was priority available? Worried there will be a huge backlog with the centre only recently reopening.

Income Requirement Clarification

Hi all. I come seeking clarification and a bit of reassurance that my interpretation of the minimum income requirement is correct.

My parter will be applying in September with myself as her sponsor. As of March this year my salary is over the £29000 and I’ve been with my current employer over 13 years which I can see ordinarily qualifies me for Category A.

Why do I need clarification then? Well the company I work for allows us to ‘purchase’ additional holidays, which I took them up on for the first time this year (ironically for a trip to go see my partner in her home country). That holiday ‘purchase’ shows as an adjustment on my payslip which then brings me under the £29000 threshold by a few hundred pounds.

However, I’m contracted to work one in three Saturdays which is paid as overtime and is more than the adjustment even if I only do one a month. We are also paid bonus based on performance, but this is not guaranteed of course.

As I understand it this could still be Category A and all they will do is add my total gross pay over the 6 months, divide by 6 and multiply by 12 to ensure it totals over £29000?

Attached is a photo of my current lowest payslip in the applicable period to illustrate what I mean.

I just want to check that my understanding of things is correct?

Spouse Visa - Bio on 30 June (or around that date) – anyone else?

Hi everyone!
I applied for a UK Spouse Visa from Poland. My application was submitted on 20 June, and I had my biometrics on 30 June.
I was wondering if anyone else applied around the same time, especially if your biometrics were on 30 June (or a few days either side).
Feel free to share:
Country you applied from
Application date
Biometrics date
Standard or Priority
Any updates or questions
Thought it would be nice to keep each other updated while we wait. Wishing everyone a smooth and quick process! 🤞

Currently Living Address - never lived in country of residence

So I’m applying for the spouse visa as a resident of Malaysia but have never lived there because my parents work and still live in a different country which I grew up in.

I went to university in the UK and visited them more often than Malaysia.

I am only a resident in Malaysia and I come into the country my parents live in as a tourist.

Naturally I was going to put down my Malaysian address (as I do have a home there, just never lived there but visit almost every other year).

but then the following question is “How long have you lived there“ which is what stumped me.

Which address should I put in?

TB Test Required?

Hello!

I'm a bit lost on tb test requirement as my situation is slightly different from most people. I lived in South Korea for like 10+ years but have not been since 8 years ago. I live in Spain now and have not lived anywhere else nor stayed anywhere for 6 months+. Do I still need to get a TB test?

If I understoof correctly from the UK gov, I need to take the test IF it meets ALL 3 statements. If not, it seems I don't need to. Would like to know if anybody has/had a case like this and could help clarify this?

Thanks.

Edit. I'm South Korean, lived in SOUTH KOREA, USA, and CANADA for more than 6 months in the past.

I need your advice about my situation

I am currently going through a very difficult time. I am back in my home country, but I lack a supportive family network. My relationship with my family is toxic, and their verbal abuse is what initially motivated me to move to England on my own.
During my time in England, I met my husband, and we have been together for two years. We are now married, but I am currently unable to apply for my spouse visa because I previously overstayed my leave for seven months.
This situation feels overwhelming. I am currently living far away from my only source of support—my husband—and I am struggling to process these emotions while trying to plan my future. I want to build a life in England, find work, and be independent. I am looking for a way to stay organized, keep my mental health in check, and eventually secure my visa so we can be together again.

APPROVED! Standard from India

Still trying to absorb what just happened 🥲💙

BIO: 14th April

ECO: 24th April

Request for further documents: 19th June

Approval: 3rd July at 2:47pm

Additional document: They wanted proof of source of a credit amount that happened within the last 6 months. I hadn't declared that in my original application.

Thank you so so much everyone on this subreddit for helping me with my application and answering my (stupid) questions. Couldn't have done it and kept my sanity through the process without yall.

Hoping and praying for all other applications. 😊🤞

I'd love to answer any questions if you have. My turn to give back ☺️

🥂❤️

Anyone successfully applied without cohabiting? (Same-sex relationship, UK partner)

I'm trying to understand how strong our case is.

My partner is a UK citizen and a civil servant. We've been together since 2023 and have visited each other multiple times. He has visited India four times, and we've stayed together for 12 to 30 days on each trip.

Our evidence includes:

- Photos and travel records from our trips.

- chats/calls together

- Our families have met, and we've travelled together as families.

- Consistent financial support/shared finances from my partner's side.

- Ongoing communication and proof of our relationship over time.

The one area I'm worried about is cohabitation. We haven't lived together because it wasn't realistically possible due to a combination of factors:

We're in a same-sex relationship, and it wasn't feasible for my partner to relocate to India because of the social and cultural environment.

My partner also has a dependent parent in the UK whom he supports financially and cares for in person.

We don't have joint bank accounts or shared utility bills, as we've never been able to live together. The financial evidence we do have consists of consistent monthly support and transfers from my partner.

I'm wondering how much weight the lack of cohabitation and joint household documents carries when there are genuine reasons why living together wasn't possible.

Has anyone been in a similar situation and had their application approved? I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience.

Employment Contract was cropped but everything is already uploaded…

My contract was 10 pages and only 3 pages were present but i have provided evidence of bank statements, payslips, employment head office letter, P60 as well as the cropped employment letter which was a paper contract so it was like 60MB so compressing was ridiculously hard. Got it down to 4MB now i realise how thats us most of it was missing.

Cohabitation and Living Situation after UK entry

Just a couple of questions:

  1. The Gov website states that "you’ve been in a relationship for at least 2 years when you apply but you cannot live together". Would the fact that we are in a long distance relationship and not been able to get visas yet be enough for this? For context, we have both spent time (up to 5 months) living together in our parents' homes throughout our relationship, but it would not be possible for us to live together for 2 years as neither of us have had a visa for our respective countries.

  2. Looking into the future, when applying for the unmarried partner visa, does it take in to consideration what your living situation will be in the UK. I live with my parents, but is more than adequate for us to live together for a short while if she can get a visa, since she has recently stayed here with me for 5 months.

Sorry if I've not explained myself well enough, just let me know if I need to clarify either a bit more.

Thanks

Has anyone successfully applied for an Unmarried partner visa without 2 years of a romantic relationship?

Hi everyone

I'm hoping to hear from people who may have been in a similar situation, especially after the recent changes to the Unmarried Partner Visa rules.

I'm a Peruvian citizen (F27), and my partner is British(M30). We have a genuine relationship and want to build a life together in the UK, but we don't want to get married yet.

We first connected online in June last year, and from August we spoke almost every day through WhatsApp and video calls. Our friendship developed into a romantic relationship in April this year.

We then spent 5 days together on holiday in Manchester and Liverpool, and two weeks later I returned to the UK, where we lived together for about 6 weeks. We have thousands of messages, regular calls, travel bookings, photos together, and I've also met his family and have photos with them.

Financially, this isn't an issue. My partner meets the financial requirement through his full time job, and I work online as a Spanish teacher.

Earlier this year, I had to leave the UK because I had been working remotely while visiting as a tourist. I left voluntarily (I wasn't deported), and now we want to make sure everything we do is completely legal.

We considered the Fiancé Visa, but after thinking it through, we both feel we don't want to get married purely for immigration purposes. We'd rather marry naturally when we're both ready.

I've read that the Unmarried Partner Visa no longer requires two years of cohabitation if there were valid reasons for living apart. What I'm unsure about is whether the relationship itself still needs to have lasted two years, or if there's any flexibility for genuine couples like us.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or received legal advice after the rule changes? We're already planning to speak with an immigration solicitor, but I'd really appreciate hearing about real experiences.

Thank you so much 🙏🏻

Approval Timeline (03.07.26)

🤍 WE GOT OUR YES - FIRST TIME 🤍
🇹🇷 Türkiye
💒 Fiancé visa
‼️ Priority service
💼 No solicitor

Application submitted: 22/05/26
Biometrics: 01/07/26 (Istanbul - Flexi)
ECO: 03/06/26
Approval email: 03/07/26 (14.48)
Entry clearance from: 10/07/26

Total time: 32 days / 24 working days (counting from the day after biometrics)

For a while we doubted if we could do this without a solicitor, however it was so easy (despite the VFS Global website being the most frustrating thing to exist!) and collecting the relationship proof part of the evidence was quite fun, it’s like reliving your memories.

I remember when we first looked at visas, it was daunting and I thought we would never be here, but we’ve smashed it and we’re so excited for the future 🤍, & the next application to switch to a spouse visa later this year 😅.

Approved- Priority Outside (USA)

I woke up to the best news- approved! We had a fairly straightforward case and used a UK lawyer paid for by my husband’s company. My husband is a UK citizen, had been living in the US for seventeen years. We have been married for thirteen years and are moving due to my husband’s company offering him an opportunity in the London office. I went with him in early May to help him move and take our cats over, before returning alone to California to apply for my Visa. Here is our timeline-

May 19th- applied
May 26th- biometrics appointment
June 24th- Home office requested more info- such as chat messages, call logs, and photos
June 27th- Our lawyer sent back the extra documents
July 3rd- Approved
July 9th- Date allowed to enter the UK

Thank you to everyone for your advice and support. It’s such a stressful process. If you’re still waiting, hang in there!
