I’m trying, but I’m just not okay.
We unexpectedly lost our girl two weeks ago. I can accept why it happened. I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and comfort when I brought her ashes home-I just sat in her fav place on the couch for a very long time and held on to her ashes. Sometimes “grounding” works to help me when I get into a trauma loop- but I just can’t unsee that day, I can’t unsee her, gone. Her absence speaks volumes at home. I even sobbed for half an hour while mowing the lawn in the yard she loved so much. I know I have to feel the emotions. I know it’s early. I know I’ll never stop missing her. I know it all takes time (been here many times). Sometimes I can get through my day…and sometimes it’s almost crippling. I really am trying. I just miss her, you know? I’m reading so many of these posts and just want to send hugs to everyone who is going through this and everyone who is kind enough to share comforting words to complete strangers. I’m glad I found this group. Thank you, and sending hugs to everyone out there who knows…
