AOKAKI - A game where you play as a Kamen Rider-inspired ronin.
AOKAKI is a retro-inspired 2D platformer where you play as a ronin in his quest for justice!
We took after Tokusatsu in both design and themes to build this game.
Our protagonist, Aokaki, is mainly inspired by Black, Faiz and Gaim.
A bit of the story:
Our protagonist was once a general serving under a corrupt Shogun. After witnessing his cruelty, Aokaki could not bear to serve him anymore, ultimately deciding to forsake his master and leave the province.
After years of pilgrimage, something inside the Ronin called him back - an old and strange feeling, perhaps nostalgia, a sense of danger or simply the need to see what became of the land that he so reluctantly abandoned. He decided to go back home and confront his past, even if it meant shredding the last of his honor.
But alas, nothing could have prepared Aokaki for what was waiting for him. A strange Fungal Power of unknown origin had settled itself in Sanagi, controlled by none other than Ogorochi. Its demonic influence spreading further than the Ronin could imagine.
Filled with equal parts dread and determination, our hero starts his journey. Ready to face his old companions, the Four remaining Generals, and the Shogun. The isopod will face many challenges, but so will he find bugs willing to help in this journey: all working together to stop this tyranny once and for all.
