Apparently, if you try an am5 delidding tool it folds.

I upgraded to an i9 12900k because my old board had died suddenly and I decided to treat myself with an upgrade. I went to test my i3 after a while of it just sitting around to hopefully sell it, lr give it to my brother. But I saw what looks like scorch marks all over the pads and I got it to post once with 1 stick of ram, but after that it wouldn't post anymore. I saw the marks after it didn't post but I would think it's not dead only because it posted once. The i3 has a dram led but the i9 works fine. I would post Photos but it flaked off when I rubbed it with my fingernail. Is it possible the old board damaged it with what I think was a power surge? I tried cleaning with 90% ipa but that did nothing.
