I'm 26F, based in Manchester. My older sister "Chloe" (30F) is getting married next spring. She asked me to be a bridesmaid, and I said yes at first.

But over the past few months, she's been making comments that are starting to get to me. Things like:

"You should probably lose a bit of weight before the dress fitting."

"Can you tone down your personality? I don't want you showing me up."

"Don't even think about bringing a plus one unless he's presentable."

I tried to laugh it off, but last week she sent me a list of "rules" for her wedding party — including how to style my hair, not to post any photos without her approval, and to "stay out of the way" during photos except when called.

I told her I no longer want to be a bridesmaid. I said I'd still attend as a guest and support her, but I don't feel comfortable standing next to her when she keeps making me feel small.

She cried and called me selfish. My mum says I should just "suck it up for one day" because it's her wedding. But I'm tired of pretending her comments don't hurt. AITJ?
