My very large company claimed they value all their employees. The structure at my work site is Big Boss, Manager, 2 assistant managers (of which I am one) then direct reports.
About once a quarter big boss arranged a catered lunch for us. Almost always on the regular day I have off. It’s a crappy lunch (think Subway platter level) so whatever.
I noticed some behavior from a direct report that felt like she was preparing for quitting.
Today I got an email from manager to the whole team saying this person is indeed leaving. They would be shifting the catered lunch to a different day since a different direct report would be off. I have worked with the quitting member for 15 years, the other direct report has been here for 3, also, could other assistant manager bake the cake for the new date?
So, let me get this straight, I, one of the longest lived employees at this site am not a good reason to shift the lunch, but newby is? The other members of the management team knew, but no one thought to tell me?
There are other things that happen that make me think they don’t think about me unless they need me, but this is very clearly saying it. I am plotting my exit
