Would it be okay to Call in only one time during first 90 days of job probation?

It’s a delivery job. I would never call in and at least give notice ahead of time but the reason being is I have an interview for another job that is offering $25.55 an hour. It’s an all day try out the job thing so I’ll be getting paid $20 an hour and that’s more than the $18.00 an hour I make as a delivery driver.

I’m trying to save money for school and I mean 25.55 an hour is huge for me. That would be an extra 1k saved a month.

I mean I don’t think it makes me a bad person to call in once to just go check out the job for one day. My previous jobs I’d rarely ever call in and always used pto so I guess what I’m saying is I’m not a serial job hopper or anything.

Anyways the delivery job is chill I mean I really don’t think they would fire me over one missed day. Yeah it might look a little bad but everyday I’ve been there now for a month and I’ve busted my butt and just been reliable so far and they are also short staffed somewhat.

You can look at my most recent post for more context. Anyways I decided to basically choose compromising and driving 4 hours to buddys Bach party then driving down and being at my gfs bday party on Saturday.

This all happened btw because I mixed up my dates and my gf planned her 21st party on the same weekend as the bachelor party. I tried compromising it like I said and my buddy won’t take that. He wants me there the whole weekend. He just told my mother about the situation. Look I know I screwed up and I apologized but don’t you think it’s a littled weird for him to try and get my mother to force me to go even though im a grown adult. I’m 20 btw.

Anyways my girlfriend is very upset because she feels like a burden now because my buddy is saying his is more important and that he told my mom about it. My brother that’s in the wedding as well just told me that if I don’t show up the full weekend then don’t show up at all to the wedding that I’m in hes just pissed I really didn’t mean to cause all this. I screwed up dates. Apologized greatly to both people. Tried to compromise and yet here I am.

My gf even said just go the full weekend if they are gonna act like that and tell your mom on you. I feel like I’m being treated like a child.

I’m 20. Really only vaped off friends once in awhile in hs. After hs I vaped a decent amount for 9 months then quit for about 10 months Straight. In that time I used nic pouches for 2 years but I don’t wanna use any nicotine.

After pouches I found myself back on my roommates vape for the last month. After long days of work I’d hit it saying id quit tomorrow. Well it’s May now. Wow that went fast. A whole month. I don’t feel any side effects from vaping besides the minor irritations from hitting it for about 6 hours or so.

I don’t wanna be 40 and look back and regret continuing to vape or anything.

My question is will I most likely be fine. I’m quitting now today. No more. I can do it. I guess the long term effects haven’t been studied but should I worry even though I’m done with it. No relapse it’s over with.

I’m 20 years old I have my ppl and instrument rating. Paid all in cash by working jobs such as Walmart, warehouse, and now auto part delivery. My question is would it be a quicker path to maybe become an air traffic controller or maybe a different job and be able to make more and save to fly and get my ratings.
