I was going through my book and just wanted to share some sketches with you peeps.

Slide One:

Leo, Nuri’s younger twin brother.

Slide 2:

Azalea, crowned princess of her kingdom.

I finally have a design I feel comfortable with. He went through a lot of variants (including the one on the bottom right and the ones I added).

Leo is Nuri’s less sociable younger twin brother. Leo carries the mark of a necromancer on his neck, a trait that makes him a pariah in society. Because of this, he’s forced to hide his markings whenever he goes out in public.

He had a rough childhood growing up resulting in him having to pickpocket in secret to help his family. They’re in a better place now but he still does it from time to time to people that just happen to rub him the wrong way.

Beyond his control, sometimes Leo can hear the voices of spirits due to his necromancer powers. He spaces out when this happens.

It’s been awhile since I drew these three together.

Nuri: Center

Leo: Bottom Left

Azalea: Bottom Right

Each character is holding an item that represents their character in some meaningful way.

Nuri: Nuri carries around an empty jar for catching fireflies. For whatever reason, they’re attracted to him and Nuri likes to catch them for good luck or to help cheer people up. He always releases them a short time afterwards. Why he has such a strong affinity to them, no one knows.

Leo: Nuri’s younger twin brother. In their world, a rare race of people named Wraiths use lanterns to help guide lost souls to where they belong. At times they are also used for warmth and comfort for those who have a difficult time accepting their fate. Leo, being a necromancer, has a strong connection to spirits represented by the lantern.

Azalea: On her forehead, is a jewel representing her role as the crowned princess of her queendom. That role once belonged to her older sister but after losing her in a war, the responsibilities were passed on to her.

I finally have a design for Azalea that I’m happy with!

Azalea is a smart, adventurous, princess who sometimes acts before she thinks when she gets really excited. Sometimes she ends up in unexpected situations because of this. Nuri likes that about her though. He thinks it makes life fun and unpredictable.

For fun, I also wanted to show a couple of her older designs for comparison.

Reimi

Age: 6

Personality: Kind-Hearted, a little rough around the edges, loves to help people.

Reimi grew up in a remote village that worshipped the goddess. Born to a priestess and a knight, she looked up to her mother who was kind, gentle, wise and an inspiration to everyone she met. Reimi wanted to become just like her.

One day however, Reimi bore the mark of a necromancer. Unable to hide it, word traveled fast across the village. Fear of retribution from their goddess, the townsfolk decided to take matters into their own hands. Her mother did all she could to protect her but unfortunately, both lost their lives to the fury of people they once thought were their own family and loved ones.

Wraiths (placeholder name)

Wraiths are a race of people thought to be of legend. Their primary tasks is to accompany lost souls through purgatory and to help guide them to their rightful place. They are born small and grow to a staggering height and while they appear intimidating at first, they are very gentle and have a maternal aura about them.

Nuri’s younger twin brother. If a person is born with the potential to become a necromancer, they are branded with a permanent mark. As their power grows, the markings spread across their body. Leo doesn’t have full control of his powers yet so occasionally his powers manifest causing temporary markings to appear.

The only permanent one he has as of now is the completed one around his neck. His first branding.

Those who have the potential of becoming necromancers are marked. The stronger they become the more the markings spread. Leo doesn’t have full control yet so occasionally his powers manifest on their own causing new temporary markings to appear.

Managed to do one more before bed!

It was a slow day at work again so i took the time to revisit some older OCs again. Before today they didn’t even have names so the lore is very new . Just bare with me 😅

R-E:

Age: 25

Personality: Cold, Aloof…and shy in particular situations.

R-E works for a gang tasked with eliminating deserters within their group as well doing jobs deemed too dirty for the hire ups to do. Because her line of work, R-E has become detached from everyday life. She merely exists to do what needs to be done. However there has been one instance where she let a deserter escape. She doesn’t know why did but rather she’ll regret it in the future remains to be seen.

Noa:

Age: 17

Personality: Confident, Persuasive, Sneaky, Soft-Hearted (Much to his annoyance since that part of him gets in the way sometimes)

Noa

Noa is a young orphan who grew up within a gang when the leader took him in. Growing up, he was taught everything that he needed to know to survive including thievery, fighting, swindling. He enjoyed his time with his crew but as time went on, the gang became more viscous. Their ideals changed for the worst and eventually he wanted out. He was almost caught but luckily for him, the assassin let him escape. He made a vow to repay her one day.

I don’t color a lot so I’m trying different mediums for practice. First ones marker, second is color pencils. Just wanted to share what I’ve done so far.
