Starting a completely new career at 45. Can anyone who started over later in life provide me some guidance?
I was laid off as a specialty grocery manager due to store closure. I’ve enjoyed my 26-year career in specialty grocery, but my wife wants me to change careers for work-life balance. She prefers a Monday-Friday morning schedule. I lack a college degree and earned about $109k annually. She’s willing to support our financially if I find a suitable job.
Retail speciality food is my expertise, but I think moving into another field can help me reach my other goals. I’ve had job offers, but none match my needs. I’m considering starting anew, but I feel lost. Can anyone suggest trades or training programs for someone starting over? I’m interested in the medical field, property management, AI product management, and specialty foods.
I believe I can apply myself to a new career, but I’m struggling to get started.
Thanks
