PS2 YAP REVIEW

● It talks. I've gotten more dialog out of it compared to stock PS2. It also doesn't output the same quirky, sarcastic one liners as stock PS2. Whether or not the dialog sounds accurate to any given character is debatable, sometimes it sounds too generic.

● Unlike PS1 or Roar, it has trouble switching scenes to elsewhere. It kept focusing on what a character from the previous scene was doing as I left, and I had to bruteforce it to switch over.

● There are still traces of the "no X, no Y, just z" phrasing, but it's not as bad as stock PS2.

TLDR: PS1 & Roar still solos

Seriously. Compared to any other app, CharacterAI had a pretty good quantity-to-quality ratio when it came to character bots. There were tons of roleplays I've had where the bots were very, very lore/show/game accurate, and most authors put effort into their starting messages and profiles. If I found the same characters on another app (if they were there, sometimes CharacterAI would only have them) they would be extremely lackluster. There is no good replacement if you don't want to spend the effort making your own bots.

Now that PipSqueak2 is forced on us, every character is bland. They mesh into one another. Soft Launch and Meow also have their fairshare of blandless compared to PipSqueak1 and Roar. If I compare the chat messages of these bots before and after the update, it's night and day.

I really don't know how some people on here are claiming that they're getting good roleplays with PipSqueak2. You're either doing the driest, most boring roleplays possible, or you're on the CharacterAI payroll.
