Need opinions from sealed Pokémon box collectors – does UV light actually help detect resealed Japanese booster boxes?

Hi all, looking for some advice from experienced sealed collectors / sellers regarding Japanese Pokémon booster boxes.

I recently received several Japanese “Inferno X” booster boxes from an eBay seller that I’ve bought from before. Previous orders from them were authentic with no issues, but recently I came across some discussions saying that you can use a UV light on the bottom/base of the box to determine whether a box is resealed or fake.

Specifically, people mentioned:

  • Shine UV light on the white bottom/base of the box
  • If the base does not reflects or reacts a certain way = authentic
  • If it does reflect/react = potentially resealed or fake

I tested mine under UV and the base does really seem reflective, so now I’m unsure whether this is actually a legitimate verification method or just misinformation spreading around.

From my own inspection:

  • Shrink wrap texture and seams look normal to me
  • Corners and folds seem factory-tight
  • No obvious double wrapping or excess glue
  • Barcode and print quality look clean
  • Boxes came sealed from a seller I’ve previously trusted

I’ve attached photos of:

  • The box wrap/seams
  • Side folds
  • Bottom barcode area
  • UV light test on the base

Would appreciate opinions from people experienced with:

  • Japanese Pokémon booster box authentication
  • Reseal detection
  • UV light verification methods

Main question:
Is the UV-light-on-the-bottom method actually reliable for identifying resealed Japanese Pokémon booster boxes, or is it mostly a myth / inconsistent between print runs?

Thanks in advance.
