Husband and I were only charged $0.48 for these 3 cards at an LCS
Stopped by a small card shop bc I was having a rough day and husband wanted to cheer me up. I was sifting through a box that had pokemon and yugioh with some other guy doing the same thing while my husband was looking in a different spot looking at sealed products. The box contained stuff like ex’s, IRs, and full arts that were mostly under $5.
I see this Eevee which wasn’t even in a penny sleeve and gasped. Dude next to me sees me pull out the Eevee and goes, “Woah, nice find!” Then he turns to one of the employees and says “Hey, you need to give her a sleeve for that.” Employee looks irritated but takes the card from me and then goes to his coworker and they start talking to each other for a good minute or two before he puts the card in the sleeve and hands it back to me.
I go to checkout with my husband, having already looked up the prices while waiting in line to expect what we are gonna pay for them. I tell the guy how I found the Eevee in the white box without even a sleeve and he goes “Wait… you got these three from the box?” I said yes and I watched him backspace a bunch on his computer and he goes, “Okay, 48 cents.”
I looked at my husband, who looked at me with that look that said “for the love of God keep your mouth shut.” He pays and we go home.
I know the Eevee is a little beat up and would be considered LP at the least, possibly the Fennekin too, but there’s no way they are only worth 48 cents even in their condition. I didn’t care they weren’t prefect, I just wanted to snag some of my favorite Pokemon.
