Sick

Hello everyone,

First of all, thank you very much for your help. My daughter is sick and she will need to undergo a biopsy because the doctors suspect cancer. She also has several medical appointments. Since I am a single mother, I am the one taking care of her.

I just started an LTO, but I would really like to leave work to take care of her and be there for her. Am I allowed to use sick days for my daughter’s medical situation? I feel completely lost. I just received this bad news this morning.

Thank you

Hello everyone,

I recently obtained a two-month LTO position. I contacted HR to inquire about my leave days, as I have medical appointments that I have been waiting for over a year. I also have my graduation in June.

To my surprise, HR asked whether I had discussed this day with my principal before accepting the position and informed me that my graduation day would be considered unpaid leave. I accepted this, as it is very important for me to attend my graduation and receive my diploma after two years of hard work.

However, HR mentioned that this day still needs to be approved and that it could potentially lead to the termination of my contract.

My question is: if my contract is terminated because of this situation, would I still be able to apply for other positions in the future?

Thank you very much for your help.
