Case manager doesn't agree with my recommendation
Hello! I was asked to evaluate a preschool student (Kindergarten next year) for OT based on sensory concerns. He scored Average in all the Motor subtests of the BDI-3 and has definite sensory concerns from the SPM. He definitely is a sensory seeker and needs a lot of input in order to complete school work, but he was able to complete the entire evaluation. I recommended consult 2x/month since I believe he will be best serviced with accommodations and recommendations for the classroom, as opposed to direct services as he has good functional skills.
Apparently the case manager was complaining about me not recommending direct services and even called another district OT to complain about me. She hasn't spoken to me yet but I'm just looking for some advice and proper wording to justify my reasoning for when/if she does and during the meeting. Thanks!!
