Hello, I’ve tried googling and looking through other Reddit threads but have found no definitive answers thus far. I’m wondering if there is any difference in the appearance of a finished product if you were to drop every other stitch vs just using a larger size of needles. In particular I wanted to recreate a mesh-looking knit dress that commenters said was achieved by dropping stitches, creating a laddering-look to the dress. When attempting to swatch a similar look by dropping stitches, I’m failing to get the knit rows to look tight and spaced out (aka the laddering) and it’s only looking like a larger gauge knit. I can’t find the OG thread that I’m referring to either so I’m kind of lost in space atm. Any help would be very appreciated!
