i can tell within 5 minutes if a room is going to trigger me
it’s hard explaining to people that a room can feel physically “wrong.” like sometimes i walk into certain rooms and instantly feel it. heavy air, damp feeling, stuffy, almost like the room is irritating me before i even sit down properly.
for years i genuinely thought maybe i was overthinking it because the house looked clean anyway. nothing obvious. but my eyes would start burning, throat irritated, random flare ups, breathing feels weird indoors then completely different outside.
and the annoying part is… outside air usually feels SO much better to me. like my body calms down the second i leave the house. i still don’t fully understand what’s happening half the time tbh. i just know damp rooms are my biggest trigger. i can tell almost immediately now if a room has that “damp” feeling. feels like every allergy in existence wakes up at once 😭
proper setup at home did help though. dehumidifier helped me a lot personally even if they’re expensive. better airflow too. little things that sounded dramatic before but actually made a difference long term. sometimes i think after suffering with this stuff for years your body just becomes hyper aware of indoor environments.
anyone else have one specific indoor trigger that sets everything off?
mine’s definitely damp/heavy air!
