Hi there,

I am found in a dilemma: should I pursue a masters in Strategic Comms or not? I am a recent graduate (May ‘25) and I feel like the job opportunities out there are very tough. I recently came across a masters program that’s of interest to me, and I am considering applying.

The thing that’s holding me back: tuition cost. I am a first gen, low income, independent person, so affording something like a masters feel gigantic. Financial aid for the program is not offered, so I’d have to find external scholarships or take loans.

I am wondering… Is a masters worth it? What if I started my own business (in marketing or comms) instead?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

has anyone started a photography side hustle? how did it go?

has anyone here done the master’s in Strategic Integrated Communications at BU? I know it’s a relatively new program, so I’m curious… how is it? is it worth it?
