Sinusitis or allergies?

Hi, I’m not sure anyone can help but I gave birth in July and then got a chronic post nasal drip (waking up multiple times coughing and a super runny nose) if I get in coughing fits, I end up wheezing but eventually it goes back to normal when it’s really bad.

Fast forward, I went to For a CT Scan and got diagnosed with sinusitis. I got bacterial medication to see if it’ll help and it didn’t. I am on avamys nasal steroid. Since probably October my sense of taste has been gone. Now my smell seems to go now too. It used to be just at night but now it’s all day. Lol sometimes it comes back for a second haha. My doctor thinks it’s allergies and I know you can develop allergies postpartum but I don’t know if it’s even allergies. I’m also on an antacid Incase it’s GERD. But all my symptoms are post nasal drip, runny nose and sometimes facial pressure. I can breathe totally fine unless I’m oddly congested. I take allergies meds too because again, I have no idea what it is! The frustrating thing is my taste. I think I’m really inflamed that my receptors are getting blocked.

i have a humidifier, air purifier, I’ve checked for mold in our house as well. I also do saline rinses and I just started using xylitol for them as well.

For someone who’s never had sinus issues, this sucks so much. I can’t sleep and sometimes i have to go sit up in my room so my nose can stop dripping and I can stop coughing. my ENT appointment isn’t until next year (unless I get in on a cancellation). my doctor really seems not to care and just thinks it’s allergies but I’m so miserable. any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. I think I’ve googled and asked ChatGPT everything. no one seems to have an answer for me. I’m debating doing the blood allergen test but I know you have to pay in Ontario per allergen. has anyone gone this route? what was your total cost?
