Does your manager use derogatory language too?
So my manager, he is at a very senior position like a leadership position and he uses very derogatory terms very weird things like I remember when I joined this company, he said you only do 10% of what I do and I was working 9 to 7 and I did not respond to emails beyond seven. I did not pick his calls after seven and to which he told me. I don’t see you stretching yourself enough. He also told me one day that your job is not that important. I invited you in the meeting so you get a sense of what everybody is doing, that’s it and one day I sent him a creative saying that oh this is actually posted and a lot of panelists have already reposted this. If I delete this now, we will not have anything and we do not have enough time to repost it to which he responded. Yes, delete it. Apply some common sense. In my appraisal meeting. He also told me. I don’t know if you understand basic math, but I will still explain it to you and he gave me a feedback on my appraisal in a manner that he said that I have written a detailed feedback, you can go and read it once it is published and he went on an international trip and when the rating was published, I saw the feedback was disguised in a manner that it was more like a career assassination, but disguised as feedback, meaning what I wanted to hear from him is he basically was justifying why I got 5% of appraisal to which he said feedback would have been like you are responsible for achieving this. It was a good start. You achieved half of it or XYZ part of it percentage of it. We were expecting you to cross that or meet that that did not happen in this particular year or this particular quarter or this that didn’t happen or that happened but midway or continued for 2-3 quarters, but didn’t sustain the momentum for the rest. This is my expectation from this particular KPI. This was my expectation from this particular task. His feedback was lack of ownership failed to achieve KPI by significant margins, lack of attentiveness and a lot of other things which were extremely personal because in one of the meetings I called him out that he promotes favouritism and he is unfair to people and specifically me, and that he keeps me out from all the decision-making processes only includes me when I am responsible for execution and outcomes. I told him I cannot be responsible for achieving something hundred percent when I am not responsible for making a decision for that and he got pissed and he called me in a meeting and told me just unplugged whatever you are doing. He basically took me out from the entire team and he also told me that I am shifting a reporting to a junior resource and then he told me that you think about it, you don’t have to respond to me now as soon as I got out of the meeting, he removed me from the weekly meeting where all the senior folks were there, and he also removed me from the group which I was a part of WhatsApp group, which was like a basically like a leadership group because a lot of things were happening and he also our CEO forwarded some message to him saying that please help me understand who is doing what what is happening in this eye because I don’t get it and he forwarded me forwarded me the same thing saying you don’t understand what you’re doing. You just post it. I explained it to him that that is this is not my area. This is a different teams work. I don’t look at that particular section. He said no you do not understand things. So basically a lot of torture was happening. A lot of toxicity. Politics favouritism was quite obvious, so I decided to resign, but do you also experience these kind of things in your office with your manager?
