What do I do about this opossum?

So there's this adolescent opossum that keeps coming into our house and we're not sure how to stop it. 3 times now I've found little dood just hiding and hissing. Last night he was behind the couch in the living room hiding from the MalPit mix who just wanted to play with him. We keep taking him farther and farther away into the woods. I know for a fact if I take him to animal control they are going to kill him bc we have a ton of rabies around here right now and they aren't playing any games. He's not rabid. He's just scared and I think his mom probably died just a bit before he was supposed to go out on his own, so yea, he's found a warm place that's pretty safe if you stay hidden and has dog food to eat on all night after everyone goes to bed. I don't blame him at all and if he wasn't a wild animal and I didn't have some morals and ethics about that I'd just keep him as my little buddy. But alas, my dogs are going to catch him one day if he doesn't learn to stay TF outside. I was thinking about making him a feeding station over in the barn way across the field on the other side of the other driveway. That's were we released him last night. It's just an old abandoned tobacco barn. It's a perfect spot for him if he'll just stay there. I was thinking if he had some easy food just for a bit maybe he'd stop wandering all the way over here. Idk. I'm not in the mind of adolescent opossums.

So...everyone doesn't have hallucinations? I was looking at another post and OP was like "yea I have the normal amount of hallucinations" and everyone is like "a normal amount of hallucinations is none"...meanwhile I'm over here like "nah, I have a normal healthy amount of hallucinations and you OP have an over abundance of them"...but now I'm left wondering. Y'all dont see and hear things that aren't there a few times a day? Nothing big or major, just things that you know aren't real like a spider in the corner or a cat meowing when you don't have a cat or ghost bugs when your trying to sleep?
