What is the cloudy part between what looks like layers?
The photo is of the front end of my 1990 vw Vanagon in Tornado Red. Many rock chips in the paint, I know.
There was also heavy oxidation that I sanded using a 2k sanding disc. From what I have read, the tornado red paint VW used in 1990 was a single stage enamel. There’s a shiny restored red, then a heavier sanded area that has a border of cloudy orange-ish part that surrounds a deeper layer of shiny red.
Can someone explain what’s going on here?
