PR on brown skin!

hiii! I just wanted to bring awareness to this condition. Just to give you guys a little story on why I think I have PR - A month ago I went to FLL and the last day I went to the beach. On my flight back home (TN), once I landed I realize I had 2 mosquito looking bites on my arm but I didn’t think much of it. ( Typically when I get mosquito bites they get very big and last for 3-4 days ).

A week goes by and I see three marks on my chest. Raised red bumps. ( first pic ) Again I didn’t think much of it but I was a little concerned because previously I had a ringworm ( or at least that’s what I thought it was ) on my thigh right before this breakout began. I started to believe that a fungal infection was spreading everywhere on me maybe from scratching and transferring it to other parts of my body. ( this was just a self diagnosis).

Another week went by and this rash SPREADED extremely quick. Once I took a glance in the mirror … I noticed marks from my neck all the way down under my stomach. I looked at my sides and back and also noticed tiny bug looking bites. I went to the hospital and they assumed it was sand mites and provided me steroids. I took the treatment and majority of the marks began to “heal” and pigment but even after the steroids the bumps kept appearing in more weird spots ( armpits, buttcrack, in the crease of my forearm, sides of my groin area… basically overall spots I sweat in a lot ) I was still itching and these bumps also start as mosquito looking bites… flattens and pigments and then scales ( some of them are still raised and scaly ). Basically all the bumps look ashy or have a scaly white rim if that makes sense.

I went to a UC, and the doctor referred me to a dermatologist but said she believe it is PR or a fungal infection. From looking at everyone post in this community I see the same comparison… same symptoms and now I’m convinced the doc was correct about PR. I will be finding out tomorrow what’s going on but if you have darker skin and notice these symptoms please go to a dermatologist!!!! Hospitals and Urgent Cares will quickly diagnose you and provide you topicals that won’t even work.
