US visitor question
Hey guys
For a while I've read through a lot of US travel itineraries and I really don't understand the obsession with the Scottish Highlands. The question I'm asking is why it's seen as such as must do?
Don't get me wrong, they are beautiful (if gnat infested/cold/wet/all three) if you're in Edinburgh for a week, absolutely, but I see people trying to cram London in 2 days so they can visit the highlands.
Is it Harry Potter? Outlander? People thinking they are 1/64th Scottish and want to feel the rush of the pipes in their veins? Or is it just terrible travel advice from other Americans?
