Placed in Embedded Role but Interested More in RTL Design — Possible to Switch Later?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently a student who recently got placed in an embedded systems role in the automotive domain. While I’m happy to have a good opportunity, my long-term interest is more towards RTL design and digital VLSI.

I do have some background in Verilog, computer architecture, and basic hardware design projects, but due to the current market situation and placements, I accepted this role.

My question is:

If I work in embedded for around 2 years while consistently upskilling in VLSI would it still be realistically possible to switch into RTL design later?

Also how difficult is the transition after gaining industry experience in another domain?

Thanks in advance!

Is Ollama Pro worth buying for cloud AI coding, or should I just stick with DeepSeek API?

22M fresher from India interested in embedded systems, AI, and automation.

Currently using DeepSeek API with the Continue VS Code extension for coding and experimentation. Thinking about getting Ollama Pro (cloud), but not sure if it’s actually worth paying for or if I should just stick with DeepSeek and use the money elsewhere.

For people who’ve used both:

How are the speed and limits on Ollama Pro?

Is it noticeably better for long coding sessions/workflows?

Does it feel worth the price compared to DeepSeek API?

Mostly interested in coding assistance, automation workflows, and learning AI tooling.
