Jobless and Defeated
Im an international student, came here for A levels then uni now approaching the end of FY2. Have been in the country for 10 years and honestly feel more at home here then my birthplace. Spent all my formative years here, started driving, first relationship you name it.
Consider myself a capable FY, stayed late loads, was known to be trustworthy among colleagues and have glowing feedback from all my posts. Got involved in teaching, audits research all of it, was just burnt by MSRA. Thought why worry ill just do a fellow job and reapply next year and oh my god, keep getting rejected to everything i apply to. Have shown my personal statement to people I look up to and they are equally dumbfounded why i cant even get an interview. Just a rant really, as my visa expiry date approaches and I will be thrown out of the country after 10 years on the island. Just deflated, have lost sleep and honestly dont know why I still show up to work.
