Ambar: a photo-only iPhone app with a chronological feed and fullscreen landscape photos

I’m the founder of Ambar, a free iPhone app for people who want social photography without turning every photograph into a video.

The current version includes:

  • high-resolution photo posts;
  • one photograph at a time in chronological order;
  • automatic fullscreen when the phone is turned sideways for landscape images;
  • no video, Reels, or audio;
  • no public follower counts;
  • likes visible only to the person who posted;
  • private conversations instead of public comment threads.

The honest limitation is that it is a new social network, so the community is still small. The experience becomes much better if you join with a few friends or photographers you already know.

If you try it, I’d rather hear one thing that feels confusing or unnecessary than receive a generic compliment. What would stop you from using it a second time?
