Living expenses problem
Hi!
I am a high school student from Kazakhstan and graduating in 2027 June. I want to apply to English taught Computer Science/ Cybersecurity programs in Germany. Many of the universities are state universities and don't have tuition fees. However, I need at least 1000 euros a month to live there(according to google). I have been searching for scholarships but most of them are for students who already are on their 2nd semester or for students with C1 level German(mine is A1). I don't think that I am eligible for need based scholarship since my parents' savings extend the allowed maximum. The thing is that they chose not to pay for my education(maximum 300 euros a month is what they can give). I don't know where to get the other 700. So I have few of questions and would be extremely grateful if you had answers to some of them:
How realistic is it to work part time and maintain a good GPA in Germany? And can I find a job there with beginner level German?
Are there any scholarships that you would recommend?
Can I get a student loan or something similar as an international student in Germany?
Maybe there are some ways to get a cheap accommodation/dorm there? I am willing to live with other students, but google says that it still will be 250-300 euros at least. For example, in Kazakhstan there are some grandmas that rent out one of the rooms in their house to students. That way it is much cheaper than finding an apartment to rent or dorm. Maybe there is something similar in Germany? I am planning to apply to universities in Saarbrücken, Magdeburg, Bayreuth and Regensburg.
