Need Guidance for Germany Master’s (Management & Technology / Information Systems)
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some honest guidance regarding Master’s options in Germany because I’ve been researching for weeks now
My background:
- Bachelor’s in Software Engineering from Pakistan
- CGPA: 2.8/4.0
- IELTS: 6.5 overall, no band below 6 (Speaking: 8)
Initially, I was looking into pure CS/AI programs, but after thinking more about my long-term goals, I realized I’m more interested in the intersection of business + technology. So currently my top preferences are:
- Management & Technology
- Information Systems
- Tech Management / Digital Business related programs
I want to stay connected to IT while moving more toward the management/business side in the future.
I’ve already been checking DAAD, MyGermanUniversity, university websites, etc., but I’d really appreciate opinions from people who are actually studying in Germany or went through the process recently.
A few concerns/questions:
With a 2.8 CGPA, do I still have realistic chances for public universities in these fields?
Am I already late for the upcoming Winter intake? My HEC degree attestation is still pending and that’s slowing me down a lot.
Which universities would you genuinely recommend for someone with my profile?
Location-wise, I’d prefer places around:
- Ingolstadt
- Nuremberg
- Munich region
- Or generally cities with decent student job opportunities and good long-term prospects
I’ve heard being closer to bigger cities like Munich, Frankfurt, or Berlin can help with working student jobs and networking, so that’s also part of my thinking.
I was also considering FAU, but the application fee is around 100€, so I’m a bit hesitant before spending money randomly.
If anyone had a similar GPA/profile and still made it into Germany, I’d honestly love to hear your experience, recommended universities, or even mistakes to avoid during applications.
Thanks a lot in advance
