I'm planning to pursue a Master's in Germany for the Summer Semester 2027 and would appreciate some honest advice.

My biggest concern is my German GPA of 2.58, as many public universities require 2.5 or better. I've found programs where my subject credits match their ECTS requirements, but my GPA falls slightly short. I've also seen applicants with GPAs of 1.6–1.7 getting rejected, which makes me worried about my chances.

I have a few questions:

• Has anyone with a German GPA around 2.5–2.6 been accepted into a public university for a Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field?

• Are there any English-taught public university programs for Summer 2027 where my profile might be suitable?

• What can I do to improve my chances of admission apart from meeting the GPA requirement?

I understand that admission depends on each university's criteria, and I'm not expecting any guarantees. I just want to understand my realistic options.

I want to become a teacher in germany as an international student...I'm in 10th and will hopefully be c1 before i graduate...I'm looking to do english and maths or maths and physics

The main reason is the possibility of attaining the status of civil servant and 7-10 weeks holidays

Is this pathway realistic and manageable cz i heard the teacher course for gymnasium ( high school) spans over 7-8 years

Will it be extremely rigorous or manageable?

And how's the student life and teacher life in germany?

Is it very stressful?

Will i face racism increasingly cz of teacher?

I got my admission letter for masters in artificial intelligence program in FAU on 14th September. I requested enrolment and send in the required documents by 30th September . I got a mail that it will take around 3 weeks to process. Classes start this monday but my enrolment is still pending. Is this something to worry about? Anyone else in the same situation? Anyone else enrolled in the same program this semeste?

I am F24 and I feel very unqualified to apply even tho my german gpa is very good, I even passed my Ielts with C1, I also have published work under my name, I fit every requirement.

But my doubt started boiling when I talked to bunch of students in that program and ALL of them had a thesis and I am going insane.

I cannot make a thesis in such a short time so I came across this paid internship where I could be a part of a research in Singapore.

I wonder if I should take it or not because I have a feeling that since it's NC program and despite the fact that I fit all the requirements I need to do something extra to be better than other applying applicants and make my SOP shine more since I don't have a thesis because my undergrad was only 3yrs (Yes, my 3year degree has a valid ECTS so I fit this requirement as well)

EDIT: I also sat for german exam btw and passed (in few months I will be sitting for another german exam)

I have a gre Score of 321, Q:170 V:151 AW:3. TUM and TUDa have a requirement of AW:4 and V 155+.
Should I retake GRE or can I still proceed to apply with this. I want to apply for MSc in Informatics/ Computer Science and have a Bachelor German grade equivalent of 1.4 in Information Science and Engineering and an IELTS: 8.

Exact numbers are (7.5 5.5 6.5 7) reading is 5.5
As i want to apply for masters in business informatics and related program and also targeting public unis
Will i have to retake the reading test ?

Which format is preferable for the LoM by the universities? Is it better to go with the traditional one with details, subject, Introduction and salutations. Or can we do the essay version where we can just start with whatever we want? The uni requirements doesn't mention anything about it.

I’m trying to figure out what I should focus on now to improve my chances of getting a job. I’m particularly interested in networking and telecommunications.

I’d love to hear from people who have been in a similar situation:

• Is a bachelor’s degree enough to find an engineering job in Germany, or is a master’s worth it?
• How important are German language skills? Is B2 enough, or should I aim for C1?
• What technical skills, projects, or work experience should I build during university?
• How difficult is it for graduates from outside the EU to get their first job in Germany?

I have an unconditional offer for the 1 year MSc Data Science at Arden University Berlin. My degree pathway is HND in Computing + BSc Computer Science top up and I have had problems with German public universities because my HND is being treated as vocational.

Arden is basically my only realistic option for Germany right now, but I am honestly worried about its reputation. I have seen people on Reddit and Facebook calling it a degree mill and I also haven’t found many Arden Berlin graduates on LinkedIn who got full time jobs in Germany.

My biggest concern is what happens after the 18 month job seeking period if I still don’t find a job.
Can I switch to something like self employment, another degree, Ausbildung or any other residence pathway to stay in Germany? Or would I basically have to leave?

If anyone actually studied at Arden Berlin, especially MSc Data Science, I’d really appreciate hearing what happened after graduation.

Hi everyone,

I have recently received a rejection from TU Ilmenau for the M.Sc. Research in Computer and Systems Engineering (RCSE) for Summer 2027, and I am considering/starting the Widerspruch process.

My rejection was based on the Master's aptitude assessment. The decision gave me:

20/40 – Completed course of study

20/30 – Final grade

10/20 – Discipline-specific examination performance

Total: 50/90

Required threshold: 70/90

The rejection letter states that the application was reviewed by the responsible examination committee and that a Widerspruch can be submitted within one month.

I have already prepared a formal Widerspruch supported by:

my B.Tech. ECE transcript,

detailed official university syllabus extracts,

a mapping of my ECE coursework to relevant RCSE areas,

employment and technical experience certificates,

and documentation regarding my grading system.

My main question is not whether my particular application should be accepted, but rather about the actual Widerspruch process at TU Ilmenau.

For anyone who has gone through this process:

How did you submit your Widerspruch? Email, post, or both?

Was the Widerspruch handled by the Admissions Office (Zulassungsstelle) or forwarded to the Prüfungsausschuss?

Did you receive an acknowledgement that the Widerspruch had been formally accepted?

Were you able to obtain an explanation of how the individual points in the Master's aptitude assessment were calculated?

Did the university reconsider the original assessment based on additional academic evidence?

How long did the Widerspruch process take?

If your Widerspruch was successful, what kind of evidence or argument made the biggest difference?

If it was unsuccessful, were you given a detailed reason for rejecting the Widerspruch?

I would especially appreciate responses from people who have appealed a Master's admission rejection at TU Ilmenau, particularly under the Master's aptitude assessment / points-based assessment system.

I’m planning to apply for a CS-related Master’s in Germany for Summer 2027. My IELTS exam is on December 9, so I won’t have the result yet when some application deadlines come.
Should I just apply now and see if I can get a conditional admission? Or is it better to wait for the IELTS result?
Also, if you know any universities that accept MOI or let you submit the English certificate later, I’d really appreciate it.

So, I have 3 Cs in A level Mathematics, Physics and IT. And will give IELTS in a few weeks. Will I get admission in Public German Uni in English Language NC Frei courses related to Data Science Or Artificial Intelligence??

According to the grade requirements available online, it shows minimum 3 Cs in A level subjects.

I recently learned about the opportunities for international students in Germany and exchange organizations such as DAAD and became really interested in the possibility of pursuing my master’s degree in Germany starting next year. I have a degree in Biology, and I’m currently starting to look into what options might be available to me. I want to study there electrical engineering in dual mode. 2027 Is there any online community more connected with this where I can to ask? I want to go into HVDC, so probably work in Siemens. How hard it is to get into? How to prepare? I finish highschool at June 2028, I know that I have to apply about summer 2027 to have chances for October 2028.
