How much do I need to actually save for 2 years of Master’s degree

Hello, I am over 30 (F) and finding a job in another country for me it’s near impossible right now. Also, I have been thinking about changing careers. I am a Marine Engineer with 6 years of experience I already saved around 24K for the blocked account. My German is A2 at best and will start studying next month. Right now I am studying for Engilsh exam.
Hopefully, I will be moving to Germany next March or one semester after.

My question is 25K will be enough? I want to get accepted to a Hochshule, i’m better suited for practical work than theory. Can I get a part time job in engineering while studying?Does Aplied Science Masters are demanding? Are there any paid internships in these kind of studies? (Systems engineeing, mechanical engineering, mechatronics etc?)

Note: I will not get any support from my family and my grades were not that great in bachelors so scholarship may not be possible. I can only rely on myself.

I'm a Lebanese BME graduate conflicted between continuing my master's studies in either Germany or France.

Hello Everyone.

There doesn't seem to be any posts on reddit, or videos on youtube showcasing the experience of a Lebanese student in Germany.

Most of my family members and friends recommend continuing my studies in France since they seem to be familiar with Lebanese people and are on friendly terms with them.

On the other hand, most of what i heard about Germans is that they seem to view Lebanese people negatively.

Regardless of what people say here, I still lean towards Germany since i like the language, and I'm especially interested in Heidelberg University and its BME curriculum.

What can i expect if i decide to go to Germany and what can i do to improve my experience with the people there?

Can I get guidance on improving my chances for a public Master’s in Germany

Hi everyone, I’m trying for a Master's in Germany and really need some guidance on how I can improve my chances of getting into a **public university**.
my\_qualifications
B.Tech in IT + Minor in Data Science — **CGPA 8.06**

**IELTS 6.5**

**2 years of experience as a Technical Analyst**

A few IT/Data-related projects

Currently learning **German** and planning to take the exam

I’ve been applying to Germany for **two intakes** now and have received multiple rejections. I’m trying to understand what I might be missing.
One thing that confuses me is that a friend of mine is from the **same college and completed the same B.Tech course as me**, so our subjects and credits are very similar. They have a **7.5 CGPA, IELTS 6.0, no German and less experience**, but still received admits from around 4 universities, including some of the same universities I applied to. I also have a higher CGPA.
So I’m wondering if **ECTS/module matching could still be the issue**, and how I can properly check this before applying. Would getting **B1/B2 German** actually help my chances, and what else should I improve?
My career interests are **Cybersecurity, DevOps, Cloud and SAP**.
At this point, I’m unsure whether I should keep trying for public universities in Germany for another intake or consider **Austria, Scotland/UK or other countries**.
If anyone experienced with German admissions could guide me on **how to check my ECTS/module compatibility, choose suitable universities and improve my chances**, I would really appreciate it.

leaving germany temporarily

so i will leave germany for 2-3 months and go back to my hometown in the semster break and will come back in the start of the next semester, while i am outside germany, it is not ideal for me to pay the rent for 3 months while i will not be living in the apartment, therefore i am looking for all possible solutions for this problem, subletting the room is not possible because of the company terms,,

the solution that i think about is leaving the apartment by canceling the contract and then do abmeldung or deregistration from the city and leave, then when i come back i look for new accomodation with a new contract then do anmeldung again, will that solve the problem? , and will my bank account and health insurance be affected if i did abmeldung then leave ?

Am I understanding this right?

I'll only have to take an English proficiency test for seminars, but they're not needed for being admitted for the program? This is the official JGU Mainz website but I find it hard to believe.

Also: It says that there's no minimum level of German proficiency required if you're doing BA in English Literature & Culture, but I can't tell if that's only if you do American Studies along with it, or if American Studies are not necessary.

How long wait for Aufenthaltstitel?

Hello everyone,

I’ve been waiting for the new Aufenthaltstitel for almost 2 months.

I am in Dortmund, last time when I applied for a new one took only one month.

I worry about my internship which begins at September, also my onboarding for the job in Duales Studium. I am not sure if I need to submit it by this time.

Now I have a Fiktionsbescheinigung till 26.09, it allows me to do the internship but doesn’t cover even to the end of September.

I don’t have a confirmation like “Bescheinigung über die Ausstellung eines Aufenthaltstitels”

If you know how it works or ever been in the similar situation, please share your experience, I am really grateful 🙏

Confusion about this

I have dont recived offer letter yet. The university is taking too much time. But uni assist has provided this letter. and it mentioned something like

"With this letter you can apply for a study applicant's visa at the German Embassy / German

Consulate in your country. However, the letter does not grant a legal claim for the issuance of a

visa."

what does this mean. Can i apply for interview data with this letter? or i actually need offer letter from university. ?

Need help with German student visa document uploads – Consular Services Portal

Hi everyone,

I’m applying for a German student visa from India through VFS Global Bangalore, and I’m currently completing the document upload section on the German Federal Foreign Office Consular Services Portal.

I have already uploaded the following documents:
School-leaving certificate:

10th certificate
12th certificate
Bachelor’s degree
6-semester marks cards
Bachelor’s transcript
Anabin clarification showing my university as H+

Health insurance:
Travel insurance
Health insurance

APS certificate:
APS certificate
Bachelor’s degree

The portal is also showing some sections under “Other documents” / optional documents, and I’m confused about what exactly I should upload there.

In particular, I’m unsure about the “Additional contact and legal representation information” form and the “Information provided to applicants pursuant to Section 54(2) No. 8 in conjunction with Section 53 of the Residence Act” form.

Do I need to complete and upload these forms as part of my student visa application, or are they only required in certain situations?

Also, after making the correction in the application, do I need to upload any additional documents in the “Other documents” section?

For anyone who has recently applied for a German student visa through VFS Bangalore, could you please share what documents you uploaded under “Other documents” and whether you submitted the two forms mentioned above?

I just want to make sure everything is complete before I submit the corrected application.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Looking for a widely accepted CV template

I have viewed numerous resources and followed the guidelines, but I keep seeing that some of the stuff in these guides are outdated or unnecessary, such as birthdate and photo. Can someone please, please, please send me a template or some sort of information that is considered widely accepted in Germany. I am pulling my hair out at the contradictions and nuances. For more context, this CV is for a masters program, not a job. Below are the resourses I've used.

What is the difference between a Diplom and a Masters degree in regards to an education career?

I'm asking this question on behalf of my girlfriend.

For full context:

She is currently an Indian citizen graduating with a BVA (Bachelors of Visual Arts). She plans to study in Germany next year within a similar field (ideally an MA). We have noticed that universities offer either a Diplom I, Diplom II, or a Masters degree in what she is interested in.

Her career goal is becoming a Concept Artist and working in the Games Industry. At this moment she is not interested in becoming an educator, but she may want to become an instructor or professor in her field in the far future.

Our confusion is here- We know that a typical Postgrad Diploma isn't enough for academic credentials. If she were to graduate with a Diplom II, and later get a phD, would that be enough to qualify for an educator role? Would she need to give any kind of additional certification?

Are there any other restrictions she may come across if she graduates with a Diplom rather than an MA? Any guidance is much appreciated.

To clarify, we are not asking about a Postgraduate Diploma (PostDip), we are asking specifically about the qualifications a Diplom provides. She is also only interested in being an educator for higher education (so college students), not secondary or primary.

APS or Without APS for German Visa Application?

I completed my 12th grade through CBSE in Saudi Arabia and I’m currently applying for a German student visa.

While filling out the visa application, I’m being asked whether I should select “APS” or “Without APS Application.”

The thing is, I already have an APS certificate.

For students who completed CBSE schooling outside India (in Saudi Arabia), which option should I select?

I’d really appreciate it if someone who has gone through a similar situation could clarify this. Thanks!
