Cosette vs Cozette?

I love the name Cosette (Co-ZET) for my daughter and planned on using the nickname “Cosie” (coh-zee). However, my family keeps getting confused by the pronunciation of Cosette and says I should spell it “Cozette” instead so people naturally pronounce it with a Z sound.

I personally prefer the traditional spelling Cosette because it looks more timeless/elegant, while Cozette feels a little trendier to me and a borderline tragedeigh. But I also don’t want my daughter constantly correcting people.

For context, we’re American/SoCal, so I’m not super concerned with the French opinions on the name itself lol. I like the meaning of victorious/little one.

I plan on her middle name being Autumn since we will be welcoming her this Fall and it’s my favorite season.

Which spelling would you choose: Cosette (nn Cosie) or Cozette (nn Cozie)

And is Cosette actually hard to pronounce for most Americans, or are my family members just overthinking it?
