USDT sent to Venmo without knowing lack of support
I have seen a few people with the same issue so I thought I would add mine to the pile. Four months ago I sent $3492.51 to my Venmo ETH address because, why wouldn't sending an ERC-20 token to an ERC-20 address NOT WORK?!!?
Anyway, I will call about once a month so try and get a progress report or something on getting my money back. I have a case number I established when I first called about the issue. The case file includes the etherscan.io screenshots, dates, wallet addresses etc. The best part is when I call to talk to support they have no interest in this case file that was created, ZERO interest. All I get is the same song and dance about them not being able to see it on their end. Then I have to ask if they understand how crypto functions, blockchain, blah blah blah. Like talking to a brick wall sometimes.
I did, however, speak with one supervisor that seemed to know what he was talking about, but who knows. He was telling me that PayPal and Venmo are in the middle of merging a bunch of functionalities between the two different apps? And that once they have completed this task, I should see my money appear magically? The part I worry about is that USDT isn't exactly honored by our regulatory system in the US, which leads me to believe I am completely fucked out of this money even if they do add another stablecoin to their platform?
God, I can't believe I sent so much without even thinking about it. Every other platform or exchange I use has never given me issues like Venmo. If anyone from Venmo sees this, please escalate the issue to the proper Dev team and just send my money back to the address from whence it came. PLEASE!
