The Victoria Burke interview with alleged sex pest Andy Signore was frustrating from a 47.1 supporter’s perspective

Knowing Andy is vehemently opposed to 47.1, I found his tone particularly condescending when Victoria was discussing it. Although, it’s possible that his sidekick, Kim, took first place for condescension.

It definitely didn’t feel like he was engaging with the arguments in good faith so much as talking down to someone whose position he disagrees with. I’m guessing that Andy agreed to platform Victoria because she agreed to appear in his upcoming documentary.

You can oppose 47.1 and still give the other side a fair hearing. But when the interviewer’s own position is already clear, that’s just propaganda. I like to think that Victoria was tricked by Andy and not that she made an informed decision to speak her truth on an alleged sex pest’s platform.

The “Justin and Gina Hug Challenge” failed because trying to make a viral trend out of celebrity workplace legal drama is completely inappropriate.

Can we talk about the attempt by some creators to turn Justin Baldoni and Gina Rodriguez’s 20-second hug into a literal "Hug Challenge"?

After Justin posted the video, one CC tried to kick off a CTA asking people to film themselves doing a "20-second hug" to "spread humanity" and show solidarity with Justin. WTF?

The response? Absolute silence.

The entire premise of the "challenge" is highly inappropriate. No surprise that nobody engaged. And a special shout out from me to y’all. That video is tied to a serious legal battle involving allegations over workplace boundaries and a toxic "culture of hugging" on the set of It Ends With Us.

Trying to turn the Speak Your Truth Act into a viral internet challenge completely trivialises professional boundaries. Asking normal coworkers to replicate a ‘bear hug’ completely ignores the HR boundaries that exist to keep employees safe in the real world, especially women. Just let women do their forking jobs.
