New Manager told us not to expect Exceeds Expectation this FY26 Performance Evaluation
Our team was impacted by the recent RIF where our then manager was let go. We were reassigned to a new manager who’s based in another region. During one of our team meetings, he told us not to expect getting Exceeds Expectation rating because that’s not how things work in his team or in the entire ecosystem of the region he belongs to. He even questioned our previous years Performance Evaluation, and mocked those who got Exceeds Expectation. He’s merely giving such remark without looking at the actual metrics. Does he think that he’s better than anyone in his team? He’s a narcissist. Instead of uplifting our spirit, he tends to push us away. We didn’t have a choice. We didn’t even want to be under his leadership to begin with. Now I’m thinking if it’s still worth it to stay. With his decades of experience in consulting, I don’t find him fitting a leadership role.
