Should I get Dirac or Sonarworks to tackle this Frequency Response Curve of my Room?

How useful would either be? Doing Music Production, Mixing, and Mastering in my Bedroom.

Or would they just be useful for the high frequencies?

Two room pictures attached. It's a long studio apartment.

And would a subwoofer really be able to even out the low end completely? Do I just have to set it up or do I have to worry about timing, etc..?

(UPDATE) Managed to reduce a low end null by moving speakers closer to the front wall. Confused. Is this a good curve for a bedroom studio? How else can I improve this?

(White background curve is current with no panels behind speakers, black background curve is previous with panels behind the speakers)

Hey guys,

So this is a follow up on my previous post. I moved the speakers fully to the front wall and actually took the 6 inch panels and put them into the corners and used my 4 inch panels for the first reflection points.

I keep moving the panels around and the frequency response curve doesn't change too much. What really got mostly rid of the null in the low end was moving the speakers closer to the wall.

This was a lot of trial and error but I think this looks better.

My questions now are:

  1. How else can I improve this? Especially the low end. Sonarworks? Dirac?
  2. How much of a difference will a 6 inch panel over my head as a cloud make in my 8 feet tall room?
  3. Any other ideas or feedback or is this pretty decent?

What can I do to fix the frequency response of my room? (Pictures of Room Attached)

Long studio apartment, one open room. There's an asymmetric beam across the ceiling, plus a beam and a counter dividing the space into two sections. I've measured with a UMIK-1 in REW.

Current setup: Kali LP-6, 20" from the front wall (per Kali's manual), 46" equilateral triangle. 6" panels on wooden frames with an 8" air gap. MOTU UltraLite mk5.

The problem: a null around 60–70 Hz that's 15–20 dB deep, and a peak around 130 Hz that's ~10 dB above the surrounding level. Everything above 200 Hz measures flat within about ±3 dB and L/R match closely, so I think the treatment up there is working.

What I've already tried: moving the speakers (closer to and further from the front wall, wider and narrower), moving the mic and listening position, matching L/R placement. The null shifts frequency when I move the listening position but doesn't fill in. Speaker distance mostly changes the 130 Hz peak, not the null.

What I'm considering:

  • A 4" ceiling panel above the listening position
  • Relocating the 6" panel currently by the counter to the front wall between the speakers
  • Dirac or Sonarworks
  • A subwoofer

Questions:

  1. Given the ceiling beam and the counter, is there something structural I'm missing?
  2. Is correction software worth it for a null this deep, or is that a waste?
  3. Would a sub help or just add another source to the same modal problem?
  4. Should I get more panels and if so where?
  5. For vocals in this room — is facing into the open space (back to the front wall) the right approach, or should I be doing something else?

Mostly electronic music, so the low end matters a lot. Any direction appreciated.

My apartment dimensions are:

320 inch length (180inch from front wall to beam, from beam to back wall 140 inch)
96 inch height
134 inch width

Need help upscaling an image/screenshot from a Youtube Short

In the beginning of the short you can see a software, I would like to be able to read all of the info on there so I can see what tools this artist is using. Happy to pay if I can really identify most of it. ($10)
